I am currently studying Computer Science with a minor in Psychology at UNSW. With my 2 years of tutoring experience, I believe that I can help you achieve the results you want. My backstory: I wasn't the best student growing up. I consistently failed school throughout my primary school years (can't really remember, but my father told me I got marks as low as 30s and 40s in Math haha). It wasn't until year 8 when I had a complete mindset shift and realised how to play the studying game. Consistently from that point until HSC, I began to rank top 5 in all my subjects, achieving marks above 90. The best part about this was I was self-taught up until Year 10. I understand having bad teachers. I understand feeling hopeless from mediocre results. I understand the sense of aimlessness from not having a mentor who could pave me the way into academic success. This is why I do what I do - I seek to guarantee academic success with the added benefit of minimised stress. What I offer: I aim to integrate "Work Smart, Not Hard" into my teaching. Thus, my lessons are process driven, rather than task driven (I teach conceptually, rather than forcing my students to spend countless hours rote-memorising). I break down concepts in a simple-to-understand way. This involves the analysis of sentence structure, exposing students to challenging questions, and deep encoding of material into memory through elaborating how the concept taught relates to the bigger picture (as well as other techniques). I aim to instill an efficient and enjoyable work system, so that you don't have to waste hours on end in order to accomplish your academic goals.
