Hi! I'm Sylvia :)
I am a Master of Teaching (Secondary) student majoring in Economics and Computing Technology. I graduated from UNSW with a double degree in Economics and Comp Sci in 2025, where I also worked as a teaching assistant for the School of Computer Science and Engineering. Prior to that, I graduated from Reddam House in 2021 with an ATAR of 99.10.
As a pre-service teacher, I have a thorough understanding of the NSW Computing Technology and Economics syllabi. Over the past 5 years, I have also worked with 30+ students in Mathematics, Economics and Chinese. Both equips me with the necessary knowledge and skills to help my students excel.
I offer one-on-one or small group (<5) tutoring for the following subjects:
-Mathematics (Year 7-10)
-Mathematics Advanced(Year 11-12)
-Economics (Year 11-12)
-English EAL/D (Year 11-12)
-Chinese (All levels, Year 7-12)
I can tutor in public libraries and online over Zoom and do home visits within the eastern suburbs.

I approached Sylvia right before my trials for Chinese in context this year, having had good results, I was wanting to further enhance my Chinese skills in writing and the oral task. Sylvia was knowledgeable, and her insight into the Chinese language both spoken and written has significantly helped me in creating cohesive texts with purpose and construct logical oral presentation of the case study! Sylvia is super encouraging and definitely has extensive experience in tutoring and was able to tailor the tutoring sessions according to my needs and I was rank 1 for the Chinese in context course! I would recommend Sylvia to anyone who’s interested in learning Chinese regardless of their experience!
