I am a recent graduate of QUT with a BFA in Drama and Creative Writing. I am able to tutor up to year 12 level English, Literature, and Drama, in addition to more basic primary level literacy skills. I have been working in Brisbane theatre professionally for almost two years, as an actor, and sound designer. However, it is my experience in devised and collaborative theatre that arms me with not only hard literary and poetic skills but a unique perspective on what good writing is and how it can be made. My artistic practice to date still utilises an iterative process that i first learn in high school literature and philosophy classes and allows me to re-"read" and critique my work to improve it both mechanically, and creatively. It is also under these conditions that i learnt how the constraints of a set task can genuinely help and develop a piece. I am an experienced tutor having acted as both a teacher aid and and workshop facilitator in my final year of high school. My teaching methods are largely visual and example based, as this is not only how i learn best, but also explain myself clearest. Given my current circumstances i am able to provide very flexible session lengths running from 45 minutes to up to 2 hours. I am able to provide experienced feedback and apply real world knowledge to students up to a year 12 level, but am also able to help teach younger students with basic literacy skills and reading comprehension.
