Hi, my name is Cindy and I'm currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce/Law at UNSW. I graduated from Hornsby Girls High School in 2020 with a 95+ ATAR. During my senior years, my favourite subject was English and I received HSC marks of 96/100 for English Advanced and 46/50 for English Extension 1 respectively. Primarily, I offer one-off marking services for high school students such as Yr 11-12 students who wish to consolidate their essays/assignments prior to their assessment due dates. Since graduating, I have been selected as a peer tutor for Hornsby Girls to help Year 12 students with English and have also worked with several English tutoring centers to create lesson materials and teach students. I have 5 years experience working in the tutoring industry and hold a valid WWCC. The numerous students who I have tutored include those from Girraween High School, Epping Boys High School, Hornsby Girls High School, Normanhurst Boys High School, Cheltenham Girls High School, Baulkham Hills High School, Cherrybrook Technology High School and Thomas Hassal Anglican College to name a few. Due to convenience, all marking and lessons will be conducted online. My teaching style is flexible and my lessons are tailored to address the weaknesses and preferences of students to best help them. As a content creator with a following across Instagram and Tiktok, I have experience making teaching content and possess a range of resources including my own former essays which I am happy to share with students as samples. The texts I studied were: English Advanced: a) Common Module: 'The Merchant of Venice' by William Shakespeare b) Module A: 'Mrs Dalloway' by Virginia Woolf & 'The Hours' by Stephen Daldry c) Module B: TS Eliot's Selected Poems d) Module C: 'What Time Is It Now, Where You Are?' by Colum McCann, 'That Crafty Feeling' by Zadie Smith, 'Spotty Handed Villainesses' by Margaret Atwood Ideally, if you are doing any of the above texts I will be able to provide more in depth feedback (because I've studied them), however don't worry if not because I will still be able to pinpoint areas of weakness and improve your essay quality regardless. Rates (Teaching): Yr 7: $70 Yr 8: $70 Yr 9: $70 Yr 10: $75 Yr 11: $80 Yr 12: $80 Rates (Marking): Pricing depends on the word count and turnover time required.
