I have known Dr Ranasinghe from my university days as a friend. We have been on the same campus completing our bachelors in Physical Science and I've always admired his knowledge, skills and tenacity for pursuing a PhD in Mathematics. While I was able to teach mathematics to my own daughter when she was in primary school, I couldn't continue to do so when she started middle school, simply because she couldn't understand what I was teaching. I was continually challenged to find new ways of teaching and soon got fed up with numerous arguments I had with my daughter when I tried to explain the logic behind a specific math problem . That's when I sought support from my dear old friend who has become an amazing high school math teacher in a renowned private school in Melbourne. I have seen how my daughter has become interested in Mathematics since she started learning under Dr Ranasinghe's guidance. I reckon it's mostly because Dr Ranasinghe is able to explain the concepts as well as complex logic in a simple, easy to understand manner and connect with students and understand their confusions/concerns. I am very happy to say that my daughter received honours (highest marks) in Mathematics in her grade thanks to all Dr Ranasinghe's hard work and it's a great testimony on his teaching skills. What I really admire about Dr Ranasinghe as a parent, is the way he keeps in touch with myself in regards to my daughter's progress and promptly bringing up any concerns that I need to intervene at an early stage. I am very appreciative of all the email queries that he has replied promptly clarifying my personal questions in regards to teaching material he has provided to my daughter. I highly recommend Dr Ranasinghe as a proficient, dedicated high school math teacher.
