About Me & Teaching Style: I am a passionate tutor and my goal is to help my students succeed to the best of their ability. I tailor my classes based on the individual student’s needs. I enjoy tutoring because I want to help students reach their potential and seeing them succeed. My goal is to motivate my students to not only do well in their studies but also to enjoy what they are studying. Whether it is to revise a difficult concept, or to prep for a test/SAC/exam, I am here to help. Aside from academic content, I can also provide some guidance/mentorship into transitioning from high school to university and also discuss career opportunities in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) sector. I currently work for the Australian Government. My Education: I've completed both my undergraduate (BAeroEng/ BSc) and postgraduate studies (PhD) at Monash University. I have an extensive physics, engineering and mathematics background. For my VCE subjects, I did English (43), Maths Methods (44 - Yr 11), Specialist Maths (42), Chemistry (45), Physics (45), Biology (45), University Maths (5.5). Relevant Experience: I am a university tutor and demonstrator for physics and engineering students since 2014. I also have experience with helping students from under-represented schools and Indigenous students. Since finishing high school in 2010, I have been a private tutor for high school students with general science studies – specialising in physics and mathematics. My previous students have all excelled under my guidance. Tutoring aside, I have also coached many junior ice hockey teams. Last points: I am comfortable teaching online (Zoom/ Skype/ Teams) or in-person (when COVID-19 restrictions allow). For online learning, I like to share my tablet screen where both the student and I can write/draw as we go through concepts. Ongoing or one-off sessions are available.
