My name is Sam and I offer online tutoring for VCE Mathematical Methods and AMEB Music Theory, as well as younger year levels for maths. I'm currently studying a Master of Commerce at the University of Melbourne, majoring in actuarial studies. I graduated from Scotch College with an ATAR of 99.85, with raw scores of 47 for Methods and 46 for Music Performance. I attained my LMusA in piano and flute by the age of 16, and achieved High Distinction in AMEB Grade 6 Theory. I also undertook the University of Melbourne Extension Program in Mathematics, attaining full marks for Linear Algebra and Calculus II. I will be offering tutoring for Units 1/2 and Units 3/4 Maths Methods as well as all levels for AMEB Theory. I will also be offering tutoring for students of any year level in mathematics. I have extensive experience with online learning and teaching and have developed an effective strategy to help any student to put their best foot forward. I offer free resources, tutoring, revision lessons and any general advice on exam preparation, coping with the stresses of Year 12 and on any of my other subjects. The basic structure of my classes is as follows: • Maths Methods – I focus on understanding rather than rote learning. I place emphasis on the crucial elements of the course as explicitly stated in the study design, and make sure that you have a strong grasp of the foundations required to ace these subjects. I have access to many company exams and will provide you with practice questions and quizzes/assignments for homework. I also will teach you tricks and how to be quick and efficient on the CAS. • Music Theory – I will answer any questions you may have on theory, paying particular attention to harmonisation exercises which can be difficult to grasp at first. I will prepare you to have strong fundamentals so you can tackle all types of questions. I have been offering online tutoring for VCE Mathematical Methods as well as younger year levels for maths. Past tutoring experience includes tutoring VCE maths students at a tutoring company, as well as several private students. Several of my AMEB theory students have passed their Grade 5 and Grade 6 exams with distinction. I also teach piano and flute up to LMusA standard.
