About

Hey, I'm Emily! I completed my HSC at St Ursula's College in 2020 with an ATAR of 98.00. My marks for the relevant subjects were Mathematics Advanced: 96 Studies of Religion II: 94 Physics: 91 **Currently not taking weekly students in 2026, feel free to enquire about holiday workshops/one-off catchup sessions and I'm happy to check my availability for you :)** I've just finished studying to be a high school Mathematics and senior Physics teacher at UNSW. As such, I am super passionate about helping students and always have been! I have experience teaching in the classroom as a teacher, Learning Support Officer and have tutored many students - even throughout my high school experience. Being a 2020 graduate, I am part of only four year groups with new syllabus Maths Adv knowledge, and five year groups with new syllabus Physics knowledge. I always give heaps of helpful feedback and strategies so you know what to do next time and am all about how to improve moving forward and how to efficiently and effectively study for trials and HSC. I finished Year 11 coming first only in Physics, then by Year 12 came first internally for 2 of my subjects (Maths Adv, Business Studies with a raw trial mark of 96) and second for another 2 (SORII, Physics), and then achieved the top mark of my school in the HSC for all Maths Adv, Business and Physics - I know what strategies are required to continually jump up the ranks. I attribute these ranks to HSC trials and the HSC final exam where I really made my improvement, so Yr 12s, it's not too late! I am a very charismatic, energetic, and entertaining person which is conveyed in my teaching style. I understand how stressful the whole HSC journey can be, and how tough it can be at times to listen to hours of content and absorb it all in, so if you are the sort of person that struggles with online learning or concentration levels, I make sure to be the sort of tutor that makes it easy to remember what I say! I make sure to supply you with all the little tips and tricks on how to tackle tricky questions. Lessons with me typically include answering any questions you may have, then endlessly providing you with those tricky end-of-exam questions that we work through together since trials and HSC style questions are so different to routine textbook questions. I also give you access to documents where I have collated common student stitch-up questions from trials and HSC papers overtime as well as my own questions. I always make short-term achievable goals for my seniors that help them see the endgame HSC/Prelim exams as that bit more achievable. As my student, you would be assured my complete dedication and commitment to seeing you achieve the best you can, whether that be bringing you lollies every time you give me an essay that blows me away, creating mock exam papers personalised to your specific exam topics, or hopping on a Zoom call to answer your last minute questions at 11.59pm the night before an assignment is due for no extra charge (all things I have done for my current Year 12s on various occasions).

Emily is an exceptional tutor who is also very friendly and encouraging. Her extensive knowledge of the syllabus and course requirements helped me to improve and excel in maths from year 10 to the HSC. Emily also provides her students with helpful resources which she creates herself, and her lessons are always extremely detailed and tailored to each student. I never left a session with Emily with questions, as she explains content very thoroughly and builds students' confidence by allowing them to work through difficult questions during the lesson. I would highly recommend Emily to anyone wanting to improve or push themselves further!

I had Emily for 2 years. I struggled a lot with maths in year 7 and fell really behind so I thought it would be a good idea to get a tutor to help me. Emily was really helpful teaching me things I didn't know. She is one of the most kind people which motivated me to learn more. Over the past 2 years, I have learned so much and even managed to move up classes to a more intelligent maths class and got the best score in my year. Emily is a really really good tutor and teacher. Thanks Emily!

Emily has been such an amazing tutor!! Coming from a student who dislikes maths l actually enjoyed her lessons. She helped motivate me and was always patient even when l wasn't grasping the content and kept getting answers wrong. She's very one-on-one with the student making them feel prioritised which helped me understand the content better as she'd always explain the formulas step-by-step. She was also very flexible and never got annoyed if l had to cancel or reschedule a lesson trying her best to adapt to the time slots l needed. Her teaching style is very personalised according to how the student learns best and she'd take into account the visual methods such as colour coding that helped me process the maths better. You can tell that she genuinely cares, wants them to do well and is passionate about helping others with maths. Emily really is the best tutor ever and l wouldn't have wanted to do it for 3 years if l had a different one.

Emily is an incredible tutor! She provides an encouraging space in which to learn and improve. Emily was able to answer all my questions relating to the HSC physics content in a way that was easy to understand. She is highly skilled at explaining concepts, and was thorough in checking my understanding of every syllabus point. Emily was instrumental in preparing me for my exams by supplying exam-style questions, helping me apply my knowledge when answering questions, and covering common mistakes to avoid. She was also really helpful with answering my questions beyond the HSC physics syllabus – which I am grateful for, as this deepened my understanding of the content and increased my confidence. Emily undoubtedly contributed not only to my success in HSC physics, but also to my enjoyment of the subject.

Emily is an amazing tutor who always prioritises her students. She is organised and knows the content well, particularly areas of the syllabus which are more difficult and cause students distress. Her approach to tutoring and learning ensures that each students' needs are met and that they continually improve. Her bubbly personality and passion for teaching means even the most boring topics become more interesting and her ability to explain things in a clear manner allows students to fully grasp difficult concepts. Furthermore, she always provide constructive feedback and responds to any queries promptly, allowing students to consolidate their knowledge. Tutoring with her, will allow any student to improve their marks and take ownership of their learning. Overall, I would highly recommend Emily to any students looking for some extra assistance/tutoring.

Emily is an extremely friendly and helpful maths tutor who greatly assisted me in going from rank 10 to rank 1 in my mathematics advanced cohort in only a matter of months. In terms of teaching, she has a very intuitive teaching style which rendered the hardest and most conceptual topics in maths advanced much simpler and logical, allowing me to apply and more importantly understand the content effectively. She also makes wonderful exam-style documents full of procured questions which are tailored to encapsulate the hardest and most nuanced trial/HSC questions, which rarely left me stumped or 'stitched up' with a question in a exam! Most of all, she is very knowledgeable and I strongly recommend her to anyone who wishes to have success.
