My aim as a tutor is to reinforce positive study habits and develop helpful strategies that will help students confidently study whilst being an outlet for students to express their concerns and difficulties. I am a friendly, responsive and dedicated tutor and am here to help in any way I can. I successfully completed VCE in 2020 with an ATAR of 93.7. In 2024, I am now a University of Melbourne graduate with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Human Physiology. I am currently taking the year off to invest more time into my students and pursue my dream of studying medicine at the University of Melbourne in 2025. VCE Subjects I specialise in: - General mathematics (41) - Biology (41) - Physical Education (41) - Studio Art (42) - English (40) - Mathematical Methods (38) Experience: I have 3 years of tutoring experience and have worked with a wide range of students from year 7-12. I have had several students achieve 40+ in subjects ranging from General Maths, Physical Education, Biology and English. I also provide free in-depth notes, exam questions and importantly several study guides for various assessments in English that will prove invaluable in preparing students for the year ahead. Workshops: I currently conduct workshops every 3 months for junior and VCE subjects including English, General maths, Biology, Physical Education and Math methods. In these workshops, I will go through students common mistakes with difficult concepts, strategies for students to use whilst studying and help develop skills that will prove essential in their VCE success. Here I also provide students with complimentary notes and resources to bolster their education. Availability and Group sessions: I am available in Melbourne throughout all of 2024. Signing up for group sessions with a group of friends and you will receive heavily discounted rates! I recommend forming a small study group with friends from school and then contacting me to organise for sessions. In my experience, this works better when everyone is comfortable and ready to learn in a team based learning environment. Refer to pricing for group sessions below... Online tutoring - $75 per hour In-person 1-on-1 tutoring - $100 per hour 2 person group tutoring - $50 per person/hr 3 person group tutoring - $45 per person/hr 4 person group tutoring - $40 per person/hr I have a valid working with children check and drivers license. I am also triple vaccinated against COVID-19. I operate on a 24/7 basis, so all my students can feel free to email or text outside of formal session times if they have pressing questions or simply want to have a chat. Hugh was a great help throughout the course of my VCE studies with physical education. Hugh provided excellent tutoring, providing answers to practice questions outside of the scheduled tutoring time slots. This was a great help and I would highly recommend Hugh as a VCE tutor.

My time tutoring with Hugh was extremely worthwhile and reflected through results in tests and other assessments, he was very flexible with sessions and clear with instructions and directions he gave for both completing work and studying too. Hugh was very clear and understanding and made learning very easy and comfortable. Along with this, there were never any problems when tutoring and he offered extra support across other subjects as well as any further questions I may have had to send through even if we weren't tutoring. My results and understanding increased and so did my overall knowledge and skill to study and understand the work I may not have seen before. No complaints and very worthwhile.
