UNSW Medicine Honours Student | 99.75 ATAR | 98th Percentile UCAT | Maths/Science/Physics Tutor
Hi! My name is Jack, and I'm a 5th year medical student at UNSW achieving a high distinction level. I have also completed my honours year with First Class Honours and hold the Dr Ho Kok Tong Scholarship. I graduated from Sydney Boys High School in 2019, attained a UCAT in the 98th percentile, and since, I've shown a great passion in teaching younger students and passing my knowledge onto them.
I offer tutoring in subjects across Years 7-12, and I aim to teach students key concepts and strategies to achieve optimal marks in the HSC, as opposed to showing them rote learning and making them write endless notes. I aim to focus on each individual students strengths and weaknesses, working together with them to enable them to reach the highest point they possibly can. From my experience at Sydney Boys High School, I have learned key strategies on how to best please markers, and I have good knowledge of the marking criteria and standards used in HSC and other high school exams.
I also achieved marks of 98 in 2 Unit Maths (accelerated in 2018), 97 in 3 Unit Maths and 95 in Physics. As a current medical student through direct entry into UNSW Medicine, I can also assist in UCAT and medical entry strategies.
I have lots of experience working and volunteering alongside children and teenagers as a high school Maths tutor in the past, a Sailing Coach, a mentor for students from multiple schools, and I have a Working With Children Check alongside this.
I am also sufficient in teaching the new HSC syllabus in Maths and Physics, and will be able to guide students through these new topics as they get closer to their HSC exams, teaching them the ins and outs of each topic, with tips and tricks on how best to approach questions based on topic, question type and subject.
I currently offer face to face tutoring in 1-on-1 style, but can also offer group tutoring for 2-3 students, with a group discount depending on the number of students. I tutor at UNSW library in Kensington, for $70 an hour.
