About

Hi, I’m Amelia, I enjoy sharing my passion for learning by helping students be motivated about the work they’re doing. My goal as a tutor is to get students engaged with their school work whilst improving and developing their key skills for the future. I plan my lessons around time management, exam preparation and mark improvement. I specialise in English, essay writing and humanities subjects. I am a great tutor for helping students not just survive school but thrive and reach their potential. I have experience with working with both unmotivated and highly passionate students and I tailor my lesson plans to suit individual needs. Additionally, I offer services for neurodivergent students to help with organising workloads, creating routines and time management. At my selective high school, I achieved a 97.3 ATAR and Band 6s in all my subjects (English, English Ext, Ancient History, Ext History, Legal studies and Drama). I graduated from Manly Selective in 2019 so I am highly competent at teaching the new HSC syllabus. I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in 2022, majoring in sociology. I received an academic scholarship to study at the Australian National University. My current academic goal is to achieve a Doctorate of Philosophy through the PhD program at my university. I also spent two years studying for a Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics and a double major in Psychology which I ultimately decided was not for me. However, my diverse university experience allows me to apply a multi-disciplinary approach to teaching students. Additionally, I tailor my skills-based teaching to university standards that will support students if they choose to complete higher education. I am invested in my students and aim to create meaningful personal relationships with them. This is why I apply a holistic teaching approach to improve well-being, engagement, and academic success. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Amelia has been instrumental in assisting my child’s transition into senior school with assessment planning and scheduling, writing and composition, as well as study skills. Amelia’s sessions are well organised, incredibly engaging, and targeted to meet not only the current needs of the student but for future skill development.

I couldn’t recommend Amelia enough, she has helped me immensely with understanding and developing my English skills. Would defiantly recommend her to anyone who wants to gain deeper knowledge about English. Not to mention, she is always organised, on time and of course so nice, I’ve really enjoyed my time working with her!
