About

99.65 ATAR (2020) || PHYSICS & CHEMISTRY Hi there! My name is Ben and I graduated with scaled scores >90 for Physics and Chemistry. My mock/exam marks are as follows: • Physics: 97.8% / 94.46% • Chemistry: 92% / 92.95% -- About Me -- I began studying a Bachelor of Engineering at Curtin University (Perth) in 2021 and was awarded membership to the Vice Chancellor's List, which comprises the top 1% of all undergraduate students. In 2022, I transferred to the University of Sydney to major in Aeronautical Engineering as a Dalyell Scholar. I'm now in my third year of studies. I have been tutoring students from Years 7-12 across a wide range of academic levels since 2020, and also volunteered as an engineering tutor at university. Teaching both the NSW and WA curricula, I have a comprehensive understanding of ATAR Physics and Chemistry and can provide you with a wealth of resources combined from each course. My teaching style involves: • Emphasis on conceptual understanding by introducing content in an approachable and easy to comprehend manner • Early and continual exposure to exam-style questions of scaling difficulty • Refining answers to maximise marks, by analysing past papers to identify question types, key wording and typical mark allocation For all my students I make use of OneNote. This allows you to easily ask me any questions and upload problems throughout the week, enabling me to prepare in advance and minimise downtime to make the most out of each session. I can also share resources (including my notes, collated past exams and question banks) through OneNote for you to access whenever you need them. I hold a valid Working With Children Check. If you have any questions or enquiries feel free to send me a message :)

Reviews

Ben tutored me in Year 12 Physics and Chemistry ATAR. He has extensive knowledge of both courses and his explanations were clear. Ben helped me to become more confident in my knowledge and improve my grades as he helped me to work through problems that I had trouble with. Ben was easy to communicate with over email and the use of zoom for tutoring sessions was very convenient. I really appreciate the use of OneNote so that I could list all my questions prior to our sessions so that time during the lessons was used efficiently. I would have no hesitation in recommending him as a tutor.

Ben has really helped me with physics over this past year. Before meeting him, I had an underwhelming physics score that barely made a pass but that all changed when he started tutoring me. With his exceptional knowledge about physics and his unique style of teaching, my marks have drastically improved, even topping my class in multiple tests. I would highly recommend Ben for any physics students looking for a dutiful and diligent tutor who can exceedingly improve one’s grade.

Throughout this year, I have seen a major improvement in my grades for Physics and Chemistry. Due to his explanation, I was able to understand the topic of electromagnetism. He also made good effort in providing external resources for revision.

I simply cannot recommend Ben enough for his tutoring. Ben has kept me performing at a top level in Physics and Chemistry and it is reflected in my results which have continued to improve through year 12. He is kind, friendly, patient and extremely professional. Whenever I do not understand a topic, he always has another method which proves to work! He gives all his students hand-written notes, practice papers and expands on everything that was done at tutoring in extreme detail afterwards, as well as being available for any questions I send him through the week. One thing that I particularly appreciated was how flexible he was; from meeting me at 6pm on a Sunday through Zoom, to 11am on a Thursday, the day before my final Physics exam, Ben works tirelessly to ensure that his students are achieving their best.
