About
RANK 1 IN WA 2020 | EXPERIENCED JAPANESE WACE TUTOR | PERTH MODERN GRADUATE
*Due to high number of students, I have limited availability. Please message/email me to discuss time slots as early as possible.
Hi, I'm Tatiana! I'm a 2020 Perth Modern graduate working as a Japanese teacher at UWA. In 2020, I was ranked first in the state for Japanese ATAR, receiving a Subject Exhibition Award (top in WA) and a Subject Certificate of Excellence (top 0.5% of exam takers).
Having studied Japanese for over ten years, I am very familiar with the language and have picked up tricks to learning it. My answers have been published in the WACE Good Answers Guide for Japanese, and I have consistently been ranked one of the top students throughout high school. I also achieved a perfect score in my WACE practical.
As part of my experience, I completed a two-month teaching placement at Rossmoyne Senior High School, where I worked closely with students on grammar, speaking practice, and assessment preparation. I marked and evaluated exams, giving me a strong understanding of what teachers prioritise.
I mainly tutor Japanese from year 11 to year 12 for ATAR students and can help with reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
To date, I have tutored over 50 students, all of whom reported improvements of up to 40% in their test scores over the year, with one student going from scores in the 60s to getting FULL MARKS in assessments. I have been invited to give talks at Perth Modern and Mount Lawley regarding Japanese language study, and visit Perth Modern and Rossmoyne Senior High School to help students with WACE exam preparation. Additionally, I tutored the RANK ONE student of WA for 2021 in Japanese Second Language ATAR, the SUBJECT CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE winner of 2024 (top two students in WA), and multiple students who received a final scaled score of 100 in their ATAR exams.
Learning a language can be difficult, but I aim to provide students with in-depth knowledge of Japanese, improving both their practical and classroom skills. As an experienced tutor, I am very familiar with the syllabus and am more than happy to work at each student's individual pace.
Student testimonies:
“I really like the way the tutor explains things. It's really clear and it's nice that I'm given some homework so that I can practise the Japanese at home.”
“I like how Tatiana is a very friendly and approachable person. When we are going through new concepts, I can ask her questions and learn more about a particular topic which I really like.”
“[Tatiana’s] tutoring cannot be replaced.”
“[I like] the ability to change what is in the sessions if I wish to focus on something different then what was planned.”
“[The lessons are] overall very fun no matter what we do.”
“[I like] being able to ask questions whenever I needed to and the flexibility.”
I teach at Riverton Library or online. For more information and to check availability, please contact me via a message on this website or email.
