ATAR 99.55 and IB 43 A/A MLC School

Hey! I’m Annie and I completed the IB in 2020 with a score of 43 (99.55). I have won academic awards for all 6 years of high school, including All-round Academic Excellence (2019 and 2020) and ranked first in subjects, such as TOK, Geography and Theatre. My final English HL grade was the highest in my cohort. I am extremely familiar with the syllabus content, allowing me to score 10 marks higher than needed to ensure a 7 in my final IB exams for English HL, Chemistry SL and French SL.

My subjects were:
- English A Literature HL (89/100 Band 7/7) - top mark at MLC
- Mathematics SL
- Geography HL (Options F, G, E) (Band 7)
- French SL (93/100 Band 7/7)
- Chemistry SL (Option D Medicinal Chemistry) (85/100 Band 7/7)
- Theatre HL
- EE → Grade A
- TOK → Grade A for both presentation and essay (first attempt)
- Providing private tutoring for debating and MLC Debating Coach

The IB is a highly challenging and stressful program, but there are actually many strategies that can be implemented to make high marks achievable for anyone. I have lots of tips and tricks, past papers and example questions that will help you work smarter and not harder. I have extracted the relevant information from the syllabuses and textbooks for all my subjects, creating detailed and summarised notes which helped me achieve my band 7s.
