About

Hi, my name is Shyamal Kumar, a 2020 HSC graduate from East Hills Boys Technology High School, attaining an ATAR of 95.50. I have great experience and several RESOURCES for tutoring the new syllabus courses achieving a Band 6 in English Standard, Mathematics Standard 2, PDHPE and Business Studies and a Band 5 in Chemistry. During high school and especially in my senior years, I have immersed myself in various learning opportunities, engaging in several school competitions and events to seeking tutoring from reputable institutions and assisting fellow HSC and junior students within my school. During my HSC, I developed a strong understanding of the ATAR system- from the importance of subject choices and cohort performances to maximise your ATAR. Hence can efficiently provide helpful study tips and strategies to maximise their learning and results. My personal goal is to inspire the best learning habits, goal-setting and results out of my students and transform students into more independent and active learners in holistically better preparing them in future endeavours. I provide both face-to-face and online tutoring to K-12 students with access to ABUNDANT RESOURCES to aid and consolidate learning. I have been tutoring since 2020 helping numerous students from Yr 2 to Yr 12 achieve substantial growth and improvement in their studies and marks. Shyamal is a very focussed and determined tutor helping me convert my C and D grades in Maths, English and Science to A grades. He helped me understand various difficult concepts through his own condensed notes and explanations using very insightful examples and analogies. Shyamal is a very insightful tutor with a thorough understanding of the HSC and ATAR system along with a strong conceptual understanding and explanations of key concepts. He also provides and marks several practice responses, exams and essays with detailed feedback that enabled me to improve my marks holistically frequently applying my knowledge. Throughout my HSC, I was tutored by Shyamal in HSC English Standard, Mathematics Standard, PDHPE and Business Studies having 2 classes a week with him in preparation for the HSC. Before meeting Shyamal, I was an underperforming student with limited motivation in studies getting Band 3/4 marks with 60% across most subjects. However, after receiving tutoring from Shyamal, providing me with individualised learning support and a clearer understanding of concepts along with frequent feedback and marking in assisting with assignments and exams, I ended up achieving Bands 5s and 6s across all subjects scoring above 86% and ranking in the Top 5 within my school.
