Hi! I'm Melanie, I am a medical student who graduated from Baulkham Hills High School with an ATAR of 99.70 in 2020. I tutor: Mathematics Adv + Ext1, Biology, Chemistry, English Reading Task help I have more than 5 years of tutoring experience, at Kumon and private tutoring where I have taught children from Preschool to High School. I am a very positive and open person who is willing to dedicate myself so that my students achieve success. I have many good tips and advice on how I excelled in my school exams and HSC as I believe that knowing theory is one thing but exam performance is a separate aspect that must also be perfected. Not only is my approach to academically tutor, I strive to share my passion by making learning fun as this enables students to be interested in the subject. :) All my students have seen an improvement in their marks but also confidence. Mathematics: I believe Mathematics relies on a strong foundation. I go in-depth to foundational skills so that students can slowly gain confidence to do more challenging problems. Once the concept is understood, practice is only needed to perfect it. I support my students to the end, by teaching them new concepts and inspiring them to feel confident. Biology: My favourite subject! I make sure that the student has a thorough understanding of the content and will then work with them together on practice questions to focus on applying theory. Through this, I not only aim to elevate my students academically, I set them up to love the subject and have a passion for it. I do flexible lessons for Biology as I teach students how to independently study smart. Chemistry: A challenging subject that once understood can be applied very easily. I love chemistry because it is a blend of mathematics and theory, it is a really nice subject that you don't have to memorise so much! I teach chemistry by the NSW syllabus, textbooks and experience. My HSC Marks: ATAR: 99.70 Mathematics Extension 1: 98 Mathematics Extension 2: 93 English Advanced: 93 English Extension 1: 47/50 Biology: 93 (internal rank 5) Chemistry: 94 7.0 GPA (High Distinction) in Bachelor of Medical Science (University of the Sunshine Coast) I charge $60/hr for Year 7-10 and $70/hr for Year 11 & 12. I am only available for ONLINE tutoring as I am in QLD for university (Griffith University). I conduct my lessons via Zoom with my iPad and laptop.
