I am an experienced teacher (now retired) and have provided feedback to students through marking their work, speaking collectively in a classroom, and individually through private tutoring. My aim is to build confidence in a student of their mathematics ability. I work from what they know so that their classroom experience is more comfortable, and their homework experience is more enjoyable. I know the importance of understanding basic number work as a foundation for the understanding of algebra. I try to help students to become less dependent on a calculator. I have tutored most of my students for two to three years, until their final exams.
