About

I am an experienced teacher (now retired) and have provided feedback to students through marking their work, speaking collectively in a classroom, and individually through private tutoring. My aim is to build confidence in a student of their mathematics ability. I work from what they know so that their classroom experience is more comfortable, and their homework experience is more enjoyable. I know the importance of understanding basic number work as a foundation for the understanding of algebra. I try to help students to become less dependent on a calculator. I have tutored some of my students for two to three years, until their final exams.

Education

BSc in maths at UNSW DipEd in maths at UNSW High school maths teacher for 43 years. Taught all levels in years 7 to 12. in Sydney, Tasmania and the ACT Tutor for 4 years including a student doing Electrotechnology at TAFE NSW
