Hi! My name is Alana and I graduated from Lauriston Girls' School in 2019 with an IB score of 42/45 (ATAR 99.25). I am currently studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Bachelor of Commerce at Monash University. I have two years of tutoring experience and can adapt my teaching style and method to best suit you to help you achieve your goals!I am happy to tutor the following IB subjects, and have listed the scores I got for each one:
- Economics HL: 7/7
- Chemistry HL: 7/7
- Physics HL: 6/7
- Maths SL: 7/7
I also have experience teaching Units 1-4 VCE Chemistry, Units 1-4 VCE Maths Methods, and Units 1-4 Further Maths.
I believe that it is so important to really understand key concepts and the dot points in the subject guides, instead of rote learning content. We can work through these together to ensure that you have a sound understanding of all the course content. I can also provide help with IAs and structuring your assignments.

Alana is a really great tutor, very knowledgeable and very adept at helping to give a more in-depth understanding for each topic. She was a really huge help in getting ready for exams and would recommend for anyone doing IB chem.

I enlisted Alana's help for chemistry SL towards the end of my IB Diploma Program, and despite the reasonably short amount of time we had together before my final exams, she helped me tremendously. Alana set up a comfortable learning environment which was personalised to target my specific concerns within the subject and she was able to use her personal experience as a past IB student to clearly communicate concepts in a way that would be directly applicable to the exams. Each session was highly engaging and they not only worked to improve my general abilities in the subject, but the confidence I had in myself. Overall I would highly recommend Alana to any student seeking help in chemistry or any other topic she offers.
