AEROSPACE ENGINEER | USYD Distinction | 98.4 ATAR ONE SPOT REMAINING FOR 2023 My name is Gene and I have a degree in Aeronautical (Space) Engineering at the University of Sydney with a Distinction average. I have worked as a Flight Test Engineer and as an Aeronautical Engineer developing flight qualification programs over the last 2 years. I am originally from New Zealand and did the Cambridge A Level qualifications receiving A*AAA which converted to an ATAR of 98.4. I did tutoring in my final year and really enjoyed being able to guide students so that they discover and understand things for themselves. I really believe that a student performs better if they have a more holistic understanding of concepts. Outside of the University Curriculum, I was also part of the USYD Rocketry Team, a student run organisation which designs and builds rockets that launch up to 30,000 ft. I have always been into my sports, with running, and cycling. Racing mountain bikes in high school and now racing road cycling at University. I believe that everyone learns differently and I will do my best to utilise my experience and knowledge to ensure you fully understand what you are studying. I am very flexible and can help in a variety of ways. Such as: weekly tutoring for new content, intensive sessions over days or weeks leading up to assessments, wanting to extend yourself beyond the curriculum, or any other ways you can think of.

We engaged Gene for our son in the last term of Y9. In that short time Gene has lifted him to be achieving outstanding grades, some the top of the class, in all subjects including extension Maths, Science and English, as well as Engineering, Commerce and Geography. Our son connected instantly with Gene and he looks forward to his 2 hour session with him each week. Gene has also provided useful general study advice and references which has vastly improved how our son prepares for exams and assessments. Gene is a total professional and we have recommended him to many of our friends with high school kids. You will not find a better tutor if you try.

We engaged Gene for Mathematics tutoring around 6 months ago in which time there has been a remarkable improvement in my son's confidence and importantly, his academic results. Gene has a very patient and calm style and his ability to simplify complex tasks into understandable concepts has been a game changer.
