I am currently studying a Medicine degree at The University of Queensland (a Top 5 Australian medical school), where I received multiple Dean's Commendation for Academic Excellence awards and I maintained a High Distinction mark in my BBiomedSc. My teaching philosophy revolves around the student - I will strive to develop their passion for learning, as well as improve their exam technique to attain top marks! I received a HSC All Rounders Award, and achieved a Band 6 mark in Mathematics Extension 1 (3U) & Mathematics Extension 2 (4U), as well as in Chemistry & Biology. With 4 years of teaching experience, I have helped previous students excel in exams, such as through improving by 60% between internal Trials and the final external HSC exam. Derrick is a brilliant tutor and has been teaching me since the start of senior high school, he really understands every topic very well and can easily break it down for me to understand. Apart from this Derrick's tutoring has resulted in me becoming better equipped with approaching hsc mathematics and has also helped me to develop more confidence with the subject. Derrick is a very good tutor who knows his subject and helped me to get from not knowing very much about chemistry to understanding and appreciation of the subject in a very quick time. He was extremely helpful to get myself prepared for HSC exam and I would highly recommend him
