About

I am a NESA accredited Mathematics and Japanese teacher with more than 14 years of teaching experience. With an immense passion for teaching, I aim to provide students with personalised learning experience which will help them overcome their struggles in the subject, as well as increasing their self confidence. My teaching areas are: - Mathematics from Year 7 to Year 10 (including 5.1, 5.2, 5.3 streams) - Year 11 & 12 Mathematics Standard - Year 11 & 12 Mathematics Advanced - Year 11 & 12 Mathematics Extension 1 - Japanese (from primary up to Year 10) - Year 11 & 12 Japanese Beginners - Year 11 & 12 Japanese Continuers As a qualified teacher who understands the current syllabus, I will prepare resources to help students understand difficult concepts, as well as providing many practice papers to aid students develop good time management and study skills. Hence, many of my students have achieved fantastic improvement and results in HSC. My hourly rates for individual student are as follow: - $100 for Year 7 and 8 - $110 for Year 9 and 10 - $120* for Year 11 Mathematics Standard and Japanese Beginners - $130* for Year 11 Mathematics Advanced and Japanese Continuers - $140* for Year 11 Mathematics Extension 1 *Extra $10 per hour for Year 12 Working with Children Check can be provided if requested. I started maths tutoring with Christy since 2022 and have found her one on one sessions extremely valuable. Due to large class size at school, I found it quite difficult to approach my school teacher for help when I was struggling and that really affected my confidence. Since having Christy as my tutor, I have been emailing her questions and she usually replies within a few hours, with explanation and complete solution. Now that I'm in Year 12, I find her sessions even more helpful than before as we go over many HSC past questions that my school teacher never cover, and she makes sure I develop strong problem solving skills to tackle the harder Band 6 questions. I am so thankful to have her as my maths tutor and mentor. If you are struggling in maths, I highly recommend getting Christy as a tutor as I'm sure you will achieve significant improvement under her guidance just like I do.

Christy is an excellent and well organised tutor who is passionate about teaching Mathematics. My Yr 9 daughter started lessons with her earlier this year and Christy’s passion for math has evidently been passed on to my daughter, who is enjoying Math more than she has ever before. Christy has been teaching my daughter since the start of Year 11 and there's been a huge improvement with her results and self confidence. According to my daughter, not only does Christy teach her the content in a way that she could understand better, she also gives her study and organisation tips. My daughter finds them really helpful as it helps relieve her stress, knowing that things are in place and she just needs to follow the routine. I'm really impressed with the way Christy tutors my daughter, particularly with how patient she is when my daughter needs more time and explanation to digest the content. I am a Year 11 student who has been attending maths tutoring sessions with Christy since Year 10. I've always struggled in maths and experience difficulties in recalling content in exam condition. Not only does Christy explains the content in a clear manner, she also provides many practice papers and gives helpful exam techniques. As a result, I've achieved my personal best mark so far in the recent maths standard assessment. Christy has been a wonderful Japanese tutor for our son in Year 7. Since she knows our son loves anime, Christy has been incorporating that aspect in every tutoring session which makes it really fun and interesting to learn the language. Our son loves her lessons and is always eager to learn more from her. I have also noticed a huge increase in his overall confidence at school under her care. We could not recommend Christy highly enough. From our perspective, she goes beyond teaching as she also engages our son with various Japanese cultural activities, leading to his love for Japanese. He is even thinking about doing Japanese in Year 11, 12 and beyond. We are so blessed to have her!

Christy has been an amazing tutor who helped me achieved band 6 in HSC advanced and extension 1 maths. I used to have low confidence in maths but Christy's constant encouragement has helped me regained confidence towards learning mathematics. I could not speak highly enough of her teaching skills.
