Hello,​ My name is Sienna and I recently graduated from two degrees in Education and Humanities. I'm French-Australian, and I came to study and live in France at the age of 16. Learning a foreign language gave me the opportunity to discover another country and enrich my studies twice in my life. The first time was when I moved to the south of France to complete high school, and the second was during my international university exchange in Argentina, followed by two more years of living and studying in Spanish. This convinced me of the power of teaching and studying foreign languages. I have since then taught students aged from 3 to 70, given more than 650 lessons, and built a personal resources library, fed over the years by what I most love about French culture and what resources best guide language learners. I feel confident guiding students from diverse backgrounds and skill sets towards their goals in French A degree in Sciences of Education means that I have a clear, widely-read, and educated teaching philosophy, with a solid, scientific foundation backing methods. I enjoy learning new languages, reading, and travelling. 📚​ Teaching Experience : I have taught over 50 students from different cultural, educational, and linguistic backgrounds. My last 650 lessons have consolidated a professional and natural ease in coaching each student towards their goals and aspirations for the language. I have always valued a communicative and practical approach, aiming for independence in real-life conversation and strong language-learning practices. 👧Children : I have over 7 years of experience teaching children and have loved each one of them. My classes respect children’s developmental learning stage and welcome their strengths. We learn through songs, traditional comptines, books, games, and projects. 🏫 While working in a French primary school in my first year of study, I taught English lessons from grades 1-6. ​The challenge of teaching young children remotely and in big class groups encouraged me to become playfully innovative to capture my students' attention and interest. My rate includes : - 7/7 availability over a ten hour period each day, with last-minute booking to accommodate students with family responsibilities - personalised homework, set and corrected outside lesson time on request. - consistent and regular written feedback - an authentic relationship based on sharing of language and culture as a guiding thread I guarantee that no part of our communication (messages feedback, texts to study) or class material will be AI generated or consulted. 🌅​ My approach and philosophy : I believe the role of a teacher is one of guidance and motivation, with an ethical engagement of dedication and responsibility. I take on the responsibility to each of my students to accompany their learning, through times of focus and discipline just as much as through those of doubt and confusion, of low motivation and high pressure.
