About

I am a staff member and Computer Science student at Monash University's Faculty of Information Technology. My journey with IT and programming began when I was twelve years old. I taught myself to code online, and went around my rural hometown coding and selling websites to local businesses. Since then, I have learned many new programming languages and technologies, and have produced several successful apps that are available for download on the App Store. All of my published apps are in the education space. As a Computer Science student, I lead my university’s student IT club called WIRED, the Monash University chapter of Google’s student outreach program (GDSC), and the Australian Computing Students’ Association (ACSA), which I also founded. In my staff role at Monash University, I am a member of the Education Transformation Project, in which I plan new initiatives to improve the education value and experience for students studying IT and Computer Science at the university. I love technology, I love programming, and I’d love to share my passion with you. My approach is to help you to feel confident at the keyboard, and learn to love writing software as much as you love using it.

Gavin is an amazing tutor, not only is he exceptionally knowledgeable in what he teaches, he's also a very effective tutor. He's very understanding, and understands everyone isn't the same and will find strategies to make sure you succeed. I highly recommend him, and no doubt he's the best tutor I've ever had.

Gavin's subject knowledge and teach skill is unmatched! He has really made the tough parts of VCE Algorithmics feel like a breeze, and I feel like I gotten a real intuitive understanding, rather than just memorising information. I absolutely recommend him as a tutor. Thank you so much Gavin!
