About

My name is Greg Frelingos. I have over 6 years of tutoring experience, and have helped countless students achieve band 5's and band 6's in their subjects. I achieved an ATAR of 97.40 ATAR along with the All-Rounders award (Band 6 in all subjects) and High Achievers award. I currently have an honours degree in psychology, and have completed writing my thesis with excellent grades throughout university (first class honours in psychology honours). For years 7-10: Year 7-10 are ESSENTIAL years in which your child must develop study habits that will assist them in year 11 and 12. Do not leave it too late! Many students suffer in stage 6 as they have never received the proper guidance regarding effective study habits such as note taking and exam preparation techniques. I will not only be assisting the students with their subjects: I will go beyond and teach them how to study smartly and efficiently. I specialise in English Standard and Advance, PDHPE, Business Studies, Ancient history and English-based subjects from year 7-10. For years 11-12: My reviews show how impactful I can be on year 11-12 students. I have greatly increased students ability to improve their ranking within the class significantly. What separates me from other tutors is knowing EXACTLY how the HSC works. It is simply not good enough to basically memorise content and not understanding the role that each assessment task has in contributing towards you HSC. Every assessment - no matter if it's weighted 5% or 50%, all contribute significantly towards the ATAR. My style of tutoring is very goal-focused/orientated for my year 11-12 students. I emphasise discipline to a great extent, meaning I can be harsh when I find my students are not performing due to laziness, a lack of self-discipline and a lack of effort. My ultimate aim is to instil these qualities within my students, so they are endowed with the life-long skills that they can apply when out of school. Students will feel confident under my guidance, will feel respected and listened to and will feel a sense of stability regarding their progress. Last year, I managed to get 6 of my students band 6's in subjects they needed help with, along with a plethora of band 5's.

Greg is an excellent tutor and mentor. Not only does he provide feedback and recommendations for your work, but he also gives personalized feedback that is applicable to all subjects. Greg is well equipped to help circumnavigate any student through the academic and personal difficulties of schooling life. Tom was struggling extremely with English, to the point he was failing assessments. After picking Tom up, he is getting 80% in his English assessments, whilst topping his school for PDH and improving his business marks greatly. I have taught Tom the most effective ways of studying and he have a great tutor-student relationship. Tom is looking at a 90 ATAR for his HSC, and I am positive he can get it.

Greg is a superb tutor. He is very skilled and teaches humorously and enjoyably. He can pick up on the student's weaknesses and turn them into their strengths. Two and a half years ago, when I first started with Greg, I had a great first impression of him straight away. Originally, English wasn't my strongest subject, but math was, and now I can do amazingly well in both subjects. He has not only allowed me to exponentially expand my vocabulary but he's also given me lots of tips to become a great writer. All in all, Greg is absolutely the best tutor! 6/5! :D Dee is my first ever student, and we have built a strong relationship for the past 2.5 years. I have done selective school tutoring for Dee, assisting her in achieving her goal to obtain a position in James Ruse High school (the highest performing school in all of NSW). Despite Dee being in year 6, we are going over year 9-10 Maths and English concepts.

One of the most genuine people I’ve met. I went from having my rankings around 30th for each subject to top 5 in all. Greg always makes himself available, you can call with whatever you need and he’ll tell you want to do. I know there’s not a time in which I asked Greg for clarification and he won’t stop until I knew the ins and outs of the whole concept! If you are looking to actually focus and do well, whether it be year 11, 12 or any other year he is your guy. One of the best decisions I’ve made, couldn’t recommend him highly enough. Conner has been an amazing student tutor. When I started with him, he was scoring 65% in SOR II and lacked the motivation to do well. He had decent marks in business, but he wasn't achieving to his full potential. The same can be said for his English. Now he is in year 12, he has only dropped one mark across three Religion assessments. This has ranked him 1st in a very competitive cohort. He is also top 5 in business and impressively, he is 2nd in English Standard. He is a perfect example of what hard work and the right guidance can do for a student and their results.

Greg has been tutoring me for two years now and has been very helpful with my progression of the English subject. He takes pride in teaching and is very optimistic. I would definitely recommend Greg as a tutor. I have helped Christian with various assessments for the past 2 years. Gregory Frelingos is an extremely enthusiastic, charismatic and competent tutor who will give us his valuable time in order to ensure I get the best possible marks in my assessments/exams. Furthermore I would highly recommended Gregory as he thrives on success and will do whatever it takes to reach the appropriate goals he has set for his clients. When I started tutoring Julian in year 11, he was ranking at the bottom of his PDH cohort (literally) as well as bottom in his English cohort. Greg has provided me with extremely useful and applicable skills, techniques and clarifications to help me succeed in my Accelerated Business Studies course. From Day 1, Greg has drilled in what I was required to do to do well in my assessments, and in the two years that I have been learning from him, his advice has never failed once. Greg never ‘sugar coats’ his feedback on how to improve and almost always replies to any questions you have outside of class extremely quickly, to make sure you have the best opportunity to excel at your course. Overall, Greg is 100% a reliable and dedicated tutor that always has your best interests at heart. I had Greg in year 11 and 12 - I went from ranking second last in English class, to becoming top 10 and receiving an overall mark of 91. He was so patient with me, but also pushed me regarding the workload I had to do.
