About

Hi there! Specialist in exam preparation. Limited slots left for 2023 exam season. I'm Stuart and I am a highly sought after STEM tutor and research scientist with over 10 years of teaching experience ranging from one to one teaching of primary school students all the way up to university lecturing and doctoral candidate supervision. I am also a research scientist and statistician with a doctorate in experimental nuclear physics and a first class degree in theoretical physics. In general my rates are: $60/hr for one on one tutoring for years 10-12 $50/hr for one on one tutoring for years 7-9 $40/hr for one on one tutoring for years 1-6 $35/hr PER student for group sessions I offer discounts for multiple sessions per week when available. Now for a little more detail! My name is Stuart, I'm 29 years old and I am a research scientist, specializing in experimental nuclear physics, medical physics and statistics. I completed my Doctoral degree in 2018 at the University of Manchester, UK. In addition to my research, I have significant experience teaching a wide range of students, ranging from early primary school students, postgraduate students working towards their doctoral degrees and everything in between. My general approach to tutoring is to find the method that best suits each individual. In many instances, helping a student find the best way of learning and approaching material is the first step to seeing them flourish. I am genuinely passionate about the subjects I teach and I strive to relay this to my students. I have a huge collection of personal notes for topics and mountains of practice problems and exam style questions that students often find extremely helpful, ensuring that every student is fully prepared come assessment day. Generally I prefer home visits or tutoring at a neutral location such as at the university library, but I am also able to tutor students at my home if that is preferable. I also offer online tutoring via zoom and I have put considerable effort into making remote tutoring as beneficial for my students as possible. I am also available to offer remote services such as proof reading, assistance in creation of study aids and video conferencing for presentations at an additional cost. I generally like to meet for an introductory session (typically half an hour or so) where we can meet and discuss preferred methods and learning objectives and see if it is a good fit moving forwards. Choosing the right tutor is equally as important in making the decision to get tutoring in the first place. I offer set hours week, however extra sessions may be requested at particularly busy periods when deadlines approach or during exam season. I always try to accommodate the needs of each individual student. Thanks for making it this far! If your particular subject isn't listed, contact me with details and I'm sure I can help you out. If you would like to arrange a meeting to see how I can help you with your studies, please send me a message and I will be in touch. Thanks, Stuart
