Patrick was my english advanced tutor during year 11 and 12 (2022-23). I started out the HSC English Advanced course in year 11 with a 19/40 mark and finished the HSC ranked second overall in English Adv with a 89/100 trial mark. I can honestly say I owe a lot of it to Patrick, who helped me improve my analysis skills and elevate my essay writing in all modules. I definitely recommend Patrick as a tutor for his great teaching that was the reason for my huge improvement, and I would like to note his commitment to marking my essays and giving feedback.

Patrick is an adept English tutor and has helped me improve greatly throughout my English advanced preliminaries and HSC. Unlike my previous tutors, Patrick is very patient, interesting to listen to and would break down easy/challenging concepts without making me feel dumb. My results in English were far behind my other subjects as I did not enjoy it and as a result would hardly study and put in the required work. Patrick helped me by splitting the work up into manageable chunks, enabling me to get the work done consistently to a high standard in quicker time than I would by myself. All the work in our lessons mirrored what my teacher taught at school and was done in a google doc which came in handy when I needed to review essays or quotes, analysis, and other resources he provided me with. I would highly recommend Patrick as an English tutor for anyone who is looking for one!

Greatest ENGLISH TUTOR that Can REALLY TEACH!!
If your son or daughter is in Year 11 or 12 BOOK Patrick now, do not hesitate!
My son is a Maths/Chemistry/Physics person so English Advanced wasn’t his best subject. However, Patrick's kind, patient, encouraging and enthusiastic approach made my son look forward to his weekly English lesson, he learnt more in one hour a week than he did throughout his school life.
Patrick is a superior mentor who guided my son to think critically, enabling him to write more fluently and to examine texts with confidence and ease.
Patrick assigned weekly tasks and also helped with homework assignments to provide questions and feedback which improved his mark dramatically.
Patrick also marks, grades, and supplies feedback while many English tutors don’t provide this service.
There are hundreds of University students that say they can tutor English - we have tried many without success! But Patrick is a genuine educator, he is an accomplished author and his knowledge of the syllabus topics and what HSC markers are looking for, along with over 12 years experience, stood out to us when searching on the high school tutors website.
We have just finished the HSC English papers (2 days of writing) and my son is looking forward to his marks in December. He was very happy with his work and exam timing with no stress - this is because Patrick made him HSC ready!!

Patrick assisted me through my HSC year in English Advanced, English Extension 1, and English Extension 2. He approached each session with a positive attitude and incredible methods to help me understand and decipher texts, form essays, answer questions, and even help me plan out my major work. His organisation and approach to learning allowed me to flow through four units of English with confidence, and helped me maintain great results overall! In previous years I found it overwhelming to consistently stay on top of all my subjects, and the most important subject ENGLISH, could always use some extra attention whilst dealing with every other class. Patrick assures you that you won't fall behind and that you achieve the best results possible. I highly recommend Patrick if you are looking to maintain success in any form of English during your academic career, or just need an extra helping hand.

I thoroughly recommend Patrick M. as an English tutor as he helped my daughter focus when preparing for English and she achieved very happy results. His style of tutoring is professional as he guides, advises and mentors the student to think critically and respond creatively on any given topic. Patrick makes learning the English language and literature fun and challenging, reinforcing knowledge and keeping the student on track by assigning regular practice to complete various tasks before the next session. Highly recommend Patrick as an English tutor that achieves results. Patrick was key in helping my son Matt achieve a great result in English Advanced which is no small feat considering Matt much preferred Math, Physics, and Chemistry subjects over English when he started tutoring with Patrick. Patrick helped Matt appreciate English texts and provided the support he needed to confidently approach exams and assignments often reviewing several drafts of Matt's essays while providing feedback each time for improvement. We now have Patrick helping our second son and are equally pleased with his progress under Patrick's guidance.

Patrick was an excellent tutor for my daughter and was instrumental in her achieving a Band 6 and HSC mark of 91% in English Advanced. She found Patrick to be very knowledgeable, helpful and responsive. More importantly, English was a subject that she had previously found challenging and Patrick was always patient, encouraging and enthusiastic. By the end of Year 12, she was confident in her English abilities and her written work in other subjects improved too.

As school students, we are subject to tens if not hundreds of teachers and educators throughout our lives, but there are very few that are able to connect with their students on a personal level and leave a lasting impression, whether it be a classroom of 26 or just one. I had the privilege of having Patrick as a tutor throughout my HSC experience, and in all honesty, could not have asked for a better mentor and guide. Patrick was able to tailor each weekly lesson to my needs, allowing me to fully realise my potential as an English student. Although I was always a consistent student in terms of my marks, Patrick was able to push me and my expectations higher, to the point that I finished just off the top of my entire cohort at the conclusion of my HSC year. I cannot be more thankful for everything Patrick is done and would recommend him to everyone looking for an English tutor.

Patrick has tutored our daughter for the last 6 months on a weekly basis on her year 11 English journey, she is studying Advanced English, Extension 1 and Extension 2. His tutoring has assisted her with brainstorming ideas and improved her essay structures. With her assignments, he has worked with her to enhance, express and support ideas. She has started year 12 and with the help of Patrick's tutoring, she has more confidence and has been able to bounce ideas for her major work. Patrick is professional, flexible, reliable, easy to deal with and we would highly recommend him.

We found Patrick after our son achieved a sub-60 mark in his trial HSC. After a short period of weekly sessions, we were delighted to see his final results with an HSC exam mark of 87 for English Advanced and a Band 5.
Patrick was able to demonstrate and explain concepts and strategies that helped our son dramatically improve his performance and increased his confidence.
Our only regret is that we didn't find Patrick earlier! He was friendly, professional and always punctual to the tutoring sessions.
