I have 10 years experience in mathematics tutoring, teaching HSC Maths, Maths Ext 1 and Maths Ext 2.
In addition to teaching students to excel in HSC Maths courses, I teach how to study effectively, how to prepare for exams and how to optimize exam technique.
I tutor online and also from home in Curl Curl, NSW.

Jan has been an amazing tutor for Mathematics Extension 2! Jan is an enthusiastic tutor whose lessons are always well prepared, where she thoroughly explains every question. Her notes are clear and very beneficial as the additional questions helped to ensure I understood all of the concepts within topics. She was not only able to help build my confidence, but also offered advice to do with study tips and exam technique in order to build efficiency when answering questions. Jan has tutored me throughout Year 12 in Mathematics Extension 1. She has been very encouraging and helpful with my work, assisting with the structure of my study plans to make sure I have the best chance at feeling good for my test. Also, for any concepts which I can't quite understand in class, I am confident that I will have a clear and concise explanation, making them much more approachable. For anybody needing to find that click of confidence, I highly recommend Jan!

I've always found keeping up with the advanced maths course difficult, especially when I couldn't understand the terminology. After some pretty disappointing results, I decided to get a tutor to help, and after trying a few different tutors, I had a session with Jan and very quickly noticed a difference. Having a tutor that understood how I learn really helped and made the course less confronting. My results greatly improved over time and going into the final exam I was highly confident in my ability. It was also ridiculously easy to communicate with Jan and swap sessions which really helped my busy schedule. I highly recommend Jan!

Jan is an excellent maths tutor. She takes the time to thoroughly explain concepts in different ways so they are well understood, and significantly helped me gain confidence in my areas of weakness and general mathematical ability. With Jan's guidance, reassurance, and patience, I went from failing Year 12 Mathematics Advanced to a Band 6 in my HSC. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to improve their maths skills and confidence in the subject.

Jan has been an incredible help with helping me improve confidence and my maths skills in both advanced and extension 1 maths since starting to get help from her half way through year 12. The increase in my marks was also very apparent as she also helped me with working out proper study routines that maximised my efficiency for the time available.
Every lesson you came out feeling like significant progress had been made and your grasp of the maths had improved a lot.

Jan has tutored our son in both Advanced and Extension 1 maths. Jan is diligent, enthusiastic and knowledgeable and each session is well prepared, with clear directions for preparation and follow up practice exams and questions. Since the beginning of year 12 I’ve received lessons from Jan for 2 unit Mathematics, experiencing an incredible turn around in my marks. With these lessons I’ve felt both prepared and comfortable going into each exam and achieved a significant improvement in exam marks.
