About

Experienced English tutor from Primary to High School (including HSC - the standard, advanced and extension courses). I have also assisted University students develop essay writing skills. I thoroughly enjoy the experience of working with experienced educators at the Warilla Education Centre. As a journalist and teacher I have a passion for the written word and enjoy writing in my free time. Tuition rates start from $60 per session.

I strongly recommend Liam who has provided assistance to both my daughters over the past several terms. Both children struggles with essay writing and were failing in assignments and tests. We saw steady improvement over the first term, but after several terms they were achieving B grades. My husband and I are delighted for our daughters and their confidence in essay writing is getting stronger. My eldest daughter said to me that after a few sessions with her tutor that she finally understood what an essay was all about and could finally write a thesis statement. Thanks Liam for you assistance in helping me to pass HSC English with a score of 84%. At the end of Year 11, I was failing and my teacher recommended that I seriously consider doing standard English. However, my essay marks started to improve once I started coming to you in February 2018. You showed me how to write an essay, something that my teacher expected me to know, however, I was never really shown how to during my junior years at high school. Your notes, explanations and feedback were worth the money. I now feel confident that I can successfully complete the course work, especially in essay writing and research, for the law degree that I recently gained entry into. Thanks Liam for your assistance during this year. I scored 93% in English Advanced for the 2018 HSC. This mark would not have been possible without your patience, encouragement and guidance throughout the last 3 terms. At the end of Year 11, I was scoring around the mid to high 60's in my essays and test results. My HSC English and modern history scores were a significant improvement. Several of my teachers also commented on my improvement in essay writing, especially after the trials. You helped me understand the structure of essay writing and provided valuable feedback at each of our sessions together. I was told by friends who were tutored by you for the 2017 HSC that you had not just the content knowledge, but the skills to teach the HSC material. Just to say a big THANK YOU for the help that you have given to my daughter who is in Year 10 at a local state high school. Her essay writing skills have really improved and this was seen in her yearly results, not just for english but also for history. My husband and I were searching for a tutor who could assist our daughter who has entered Year 12 at our local state high school to improve her essay writing skills. Melissa was performing well below the year average and her essay marks were poor. Liam provided her with a personalized program that after several months has now seen a significant improvement in her essay writing skills. She is now more confident in planning and writing essays.
