About
Hi, my name is Jennifer. I am currently doing the Doctor of Philosophy with the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) scholarship for domestic students at the University of Sydney while working as a secondary Mathematics teacher. I am approved to teach all levels of secondary school Mathematics, including Advanced, Extension 1, Extension 2 and International Baccalaureate (IB). I am accredited by the NSW Standards Authority (NESA) as a Proficient teacher. I completed Master of Teaching Secondary (Extension Mathematics) with Marion Macaulay Bequest Scholarship and Master of Philosophy Science (Applied Mathematics) with RTP scholarship at the University of Sydney. I completed Bachelor of Science (Applied and Computational Mathematics and Biology) at the Australian National University. During my research and tertiary education, I have developed skills in programming languages, particularly Wolfram Mathematica, Python and Matlab and statistical software such as SPSS Statistics and RStudio.
I have taught at North Sydney Boys High School, North Sydney Girls High School, Sydney Boys High School, Sydney Girls High School, Fort Street High School and Cranbrook School. I have 14 years of tutoring K-12 students in HSC Mathematics and IB. My students are from various selective, independent and comprehensive schools, such as SCEGGS Darlinghurst, St Catherine's School, International Grammar School, MLC School, Sydney Grammar School, St George Girls High School, Pymble Ladies’ College, St Mary’s Cathedral, and Presbyterian Ladies’ College.
I also hold the Working With Children Check, the First Aid Certificate CPR HLTAID004, the E-emergency and Anaphylaxis certificate Child Protection Training and all mandatory training required by NSW Department of Education for a qualified Mathematics teacher.
My greatest passion is solving mathematical conundrums, and I truly enjoy supporting and fostering students' conceptual comprehension of various mathematical concepts and exam revisions for HSC. My mathematical teacher model is local Australian hero Eddie Woo. I am more than happy to explain and clarify mathematical topics in-depth and support students in developing a profound comprehension of abstract, conceptual and practical concepts. I also review common misconceptions in the assessments and provide detailed explanations and advice on improving these errors. My teaching belief is that learning is not solely about achieving high scores but enriching learners' critical thinking, reasoning and problem-solving skills and encouraging them to become confident and successful Mathematical users in the future. Comprehending Mathematical theories, building foundation knowledge and solving problems can be challenging and confusing at the same time. Hence, my aims are to provide you with various opportunities to extend Mathematical higher-order thinking and facilitate you during this rewarding learning journey.
I am flexible with the time and locations, so please don't hesitate to get in touch with me to discuss the schedule further. My fee is $100-150 per hour, depending on the location and level of Mathematics.

I was quite dubious about private coaching but my daughter (12) completely transformed after one lesson with Jenny.
This women understands that education is t filling a bucket, it’s lighting a fire.
