I'm a certified VET teacher (specializing in economics, mathematics, and physics) with over a decade of experience in education and education management. I was born, raised, and currently reside in Newcastle, Australia, and I am one of the most experienced private educators in my home region.
My academic journey started in 2011, when I began my studies at the Newcastle University. As an undergrad, I worked as a tutor for a selection of economics and mathematics units and received commendation from numerous professors for strong academic performance. I was awarded my BCom in economics in 2018. During my time as an undergrad at Newcastle, I completed training in management, and vocational teaching, receiving my certificates in 2012 and 2016. Alongside my studies at Newcastle, I completed additional undergraduate studies in the field of mathematics at Charles Sturt, receiving a DipGenStudSc in 2019. I continued my studies at Charles Sturt, where I was awarded a GCMath in the field of mathematics in 2020, and later at the University of Southern Queensland where I was awarded a GDSci in the field of physics in 2021. In 2022, I completed two professional certificates in the field of online education and STEM teaching, and am currently working towards an MSc in astrophysics at the University of Southern Queensland. My research interests are in the field of calculus, specifically Bessel and hypergeometric ordinary differential equations, I am also very interested in mathematical modelling.
Alongside my extensive academic and vocational background, I am very experienced in the fields of education, training, and education management, having held junior, intermediate, senior, and managerial positions in the field of education and training over the course of the past twelve years. Since 2016, I have occupied the role of senior academic tutor at ZJNT Education, prior to this I spent 6 years working in junior, intermediate, resident, and managerial positions for numerous private education and training firms in the Newcastle region. Over the course of my career as an educator, I have delivered around 15000 hours of lessons to over 800 students in one-on-one online and in person format, I have experience with students in K-10 (Comm/Math/Scie), HSC (Econ/Math/Phys), VCE (Math), QCE (Math), TAFE (BSB/UEE/SIR/TLI), as well as undergraduate university (Econ/Math/Phys), and graduate university (Math).
I am a highly successful and very sought after academic tutor, from a results perspective my students tend to perform both above their previous averages as well as above class averages. A number of my students have gone on to study in technically advanced and high ATAR programs (mathematics/medical sciences/engineering/data science/quantitative finance/economics/physics/chemistry/computer sciences) at both local and Ivy league universities, some have completed programs in TAFE and apprenticeship programs (civil trades/electrical trades/mechanical trades/explosives and demolitions), as well as military service and workplace employment. I routinely serve as a reference for my students if they choose to apply for competitive entry programs, such as electrical trades, shipbuilding trades, and industry based apprentice programs.
As a key part of my educational strategy, I always try to determine the interests and strengths of the individual students and gear my lessons towards those interests and strengths, I find that this is a very useful way to help students develop greater interest and understanding of the subjects. As a consequence, my students routinely demonstrate fantastic academic and personal improvements, and it brings me great pride to help students to achieve their best. My aim is to ensure that every student comes away from my lessons with an improved understanding of the content, improved academic work ethic, and improved self confidence.
All lessons run online and are offered as full term only. Monday-Saturday lesson prices range from $60/hour to $80/hour (prices vary depending on subject and lesson duration, lessons offers are subject to availability). I typically have a fairly full schedule, so if you're interested in booking lessons, please send me a message with the student year and subject and I'll be in touch with any suitable availabilities ASAP.
