I tutor high school and university students in Economics, Legal Studies, English Advanced and English Extension, including HSC and IB. I'm a management consultant specialising in economics, strategy and behavioural economics. Before that I was Principal of a residential college at the Australian National University. I've also worked as a behavioural economist at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and as an economist at the Department of the Treasury, writing briefings and advice for ministers and senior decision makers. I began university studying Medicine at UNSW, before following my passion for economics and policy into a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics and Law at ANU. I later completed a Graduate Diploma in Behavioural Economics at QUT. At university I represented the ACT in the Economic Society of Australia's National Young Economist Debate and received a New Colombo Plan scholarship for field research on Myanmar's political economy. My approach Having earned a place in Medicine, I know exactly what a top ATAR demands. I'll teach you to study smart: how to plan your time, revise efficiently, and give markers precisely what they are looking for. But an ATAR is a doorway, not a destination. The number matters for a few months. The ability to think clearly stays with you for the rest of your life. So I won't just help you memorise answers. I'll push you to understand why an economy behaves the way it does, why a law exists and who it fails, and why a writer made the choices they did. A student who has memorised is stuck the moment the question changes. A student who understands can answer anything, because they are no longer recalling, they are reasoning. And that is no coincidence: it is also how the highest marks are earned. Markers reward insight, judgement and original thought, the very things memorisation can never fake.
