About

Hello everyone! :) 98.9 ATAR with Methods 47 Specialist 49 Japanese 48. I'm here for those whose teachers do not provide enough support for you to mathematically develop to your full potential. I'm here for those who have their abilities hindered by a disruptive and distracting classroom environment. I have helped dozens and dozens of students from low grades to achieving A+ on their tests. If you think I am the one to help you, please message me to check my availability as I take in a very limited number of students. Keep reading for my lesson structure... For Maths (see below for Japanese!): I specialise in tackling the VCE curriculum and will focus on building a strong mathematical foundation through intuitive explanations and real-world connections. I have a vast array of resources for my students which include a heap of past exams, company-made exams and efficient study techniques. My lesson structure will be highly flexible, but generally will be in the following format: 1. Reinforcing intuitive understanding of mathematical concepts with memorable analogies and powerful ideas. 2. Going through example problems and solutions. Making sure the student is able to recognise and draw information from the problem as well as apply learned concepts. 3. Assigning relevant problems that will target your weaknesses, correcting and discussing conceptual and arithmetic errors. 4. Discussing problems in the context of VCE Exams, i.e. how to do certain problems in the fastest way possible while showing enough working out to guarantee full marks. 5. Fun mathematical games that will help appreciate and learn more about the mathematical world around us. I understand that mathematics isn't everyone's piece of cake, but I will endeavour to share my enthusiasm for mathematics and foster an appreciation for the subject. I firmly believe that with good teaching and a bit of perseverance, everyone can learn to enjoy maths, regardless of ability. My rate is $100 for 90 minutes or $70/hr For Japanese: My lessons are targeted at non-natives who wish to gain a fundamental grasp of the Japanese language. As a non-native learner myself, I am able to provide tips and tricks to accelerate your learning from a non-native perspective. Learning Japanese as a second language is a grueling task but it can also be fun and rewarding if done in the right way. I will show you how I learned Japanese from Japanese dramas and anime as well as visual and light novels alike. If you have an interest in Japanese entertainment, then my lessons with you will be all the more fruitful :) I specialise in tackling the VCE Japanese Oral and Written exams, increasing vocabulary very quickly, and developing an authentic Japanese accent.

Reviews

Honestly grateful to have found Ming to tutor our son in maths. Ming has all the qualities we were searching for in a tutor. He has such a genuine want for our son to reach his potential, not only ensuring he fully grasps each mathematical concept but also places a great importance on developing his ability to apply those learned concepts to worded problems. Our son lacked confidence and motivation in maths but only after a term with Ming, he has aced his Algebra and indices tests. He finds Ming’s teaching method very easy to follow, very thorough, always engaging, and Ming persists until a concept is fully understood. Trying to find that tutor who has the talent and dedication to help your child attain his/her academic goals can be stressful, and abit of a process but be rest assured you will find all the crucial qualities of an exceptional tutor in Ming.
