Since every student is different, the appropriate tutor is the one who is able to identify precisely what is preventing them from making progress. This could be the content itself, exam technique, study habits, their overall direction or just a lack of motivation. It's only after working out these things that I begin with each student. I have been tutoring for nine years, starting off as a private tutor and later becoming the founder of Rubix Learning. Together with my team I have assisted over 3,100 students, among them HSC students who subsequently obtained Band 6 results. My lessons are designed so as to identify the areas in which each student requires assistance, after which I use my experience together with my detailed learning materials to eliminate those gaps. Since I am outgoing and energetic I make a real effort to build up a good relationship with my students, enabling them to ask any question they like without feeling embarrassed, and it is in this way that genuine learning takes place. I know what the final years of school demand because I’ve been through them. I worked hard in Year 11 and 12, finished with an ATAR of 94.45, and saw how that effort opened doors for me. Having completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Business Analytics) at the University of Sydney, I then held finance and analytics positions in the corporate sector. However, my true interest has always been in education, and that is why I am now able to concentrate on helping students make the most of these important years, since I believe that education enables whatever they wish to do after school.
