I have a a strong focus on assisting struggling learners. I am qualified high school English teacher with a Masters of Teaching from UNSW. I graduated from High School in 2008 with a UAI of 94.25. I have a Masters in Teaching from UNSW and a bachelors degree in Commerce and Arts (English and Creative Writing majors) from the University of New South Wales and am a qualified high school English teacher. I help students grasp the English Standard and Advanced syllabus, learn Essay writing skills, creative writing, text analysis, comprehension and exam techniques. I studied English Advanced in my HSC in 2008 and both Ext 1 and Ext 2 English. Making sure my students fully understand the English curriculum is paramount to my tutoring technique, and I aim to tutor in a fun, engaging way. I have a passion for English studies, and want to imbue this passion with my students. I am especially skilled with struggling learners, and believe that my passion and energy as a tutor helps them to achieve results they didn’t think they were able to achieve. I love to foster independent learning in my students and create personalised tuition plans for all my students. One of my students from last year was struggling with the Creative Writing component of her English Advanced subject. By working with her on creating an engaging piece of writing, I was able to help her achieve a Band 5 result and she was able to attain an ATAR which got her into her desired course at UTS. I am skilled in the following: HSC Preparation Essay writing and skills Textual Analysis Creative Writing Speech Writing and Presenting I typically offer phone and email support to all my students 7 days a week, so if there are any questions that need to be answered ad-hoc, I am available.
