English and Humanities All Year Levels
I run tuitions Online where students come to me for help in English and Humanities based subjects.
As a Tutor, I explain vital concepts and teach key skills to help my students better their marks and overall understanding. I am known to thoroughly prepare for my lessons and give plenty of examples, practices tests and opportunities to ask questions, as well as helping students with their homework and assignments. I am passionate about helping my students achieve their desired grades and ATAR. I also help my Year 11 & 12 students write University Scholarship Applications to the best of their abilities.
I tutor English and Humanities subjects up till year 12 level.
Experience:
I have been running my own tutoring business in the ACT since 2017 and have had 35 students in the last 6 years.
ABN:
Over the past four years, I have voluntarily tutored Refugee Children in the ACT Government Program for After School Studies. I also volunteer for the Community Legal Education program where I develop and deliver class plans to present to local schools to increase understanding of areas of legal need such as police powers. I was also a qualified swimming instructor previously worked teaching children to swim for recreation, safety and competitively.
While achieving academically for myself at school I also regularly tutored other students in my class and my juniors struggling with the subjects I have excelled in. At university, I am known as an approachable and willing person who is relied upon to help others academically due to my high subject rankings.
I hold a Working with Vulnerable People's Card which allows me to work teaching children. For my efforts I was awarded Co-Curricular and Community Awards in 2014 and 2015 for my community service through PASS, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme and Promoting School Values. I was Club Finalist for the Lion’s Youth of the Year Quest for my community service.
My Year 12 subject rankings included 1st in Global and Legal Studies, 2nd in Economics and 5th in English and 10th in Maths. At the School level, I have won numerous awards including Academic Excellence (1st in my school) in Global Studies, English, Legal Studies and Commerce. I received the Principal’s Award in 2013 and the Certificate for Academic Excellence in 2012 and 2013 from my school. During my first two years of high school, I won the school’s Award for Independent Learning. At the National level, I have won a Bronze Medal in Robotics, High Distinctions in Science & English and Distinctions in Maths & History. I was my school's overall Valedictorian in Year 12.
I also tutor students in small groups in my home office, catering to the needs and goals of each individual student.
-One-on-one private tuitions are $60/hr
-In a pair, it is $25/hr each (student usually book 2 hour tuitions for pairs, but can also do 1hour classes).
About Me:
I am currently studying in my fourth year of a Bachelor of Laws (honours) and a Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the Australian National University.
I was School Captain for two concurrent years, and I am known for my leadership abilities. I am an active member of Scouts and regularly organise and contribute to citizenship and adventure activities such as scuba diving and discussions on youth social issues.
Publications & Writing:
In 2020 I wrote a feature piece on studying, internet communities and COVID-19 for ANU’s law student run magazine Peppercorn. Through this experience I honed my research, editing and writing skills in a more informal setting.
I have also written two submissions for Australian Parliamentary inquiries on issues such as Women’s Rights and Human rights in the Pacific as well as the impact of COVID-19 in Australian society from a legal standpoint.
