Hello, I am a qualified high school teacher who has 8 years of experience in teaching, especially with English and Japanese. Both to HSC levels.
As a tutor, there are several things I do in the first lesson: know about the student's level, background and interests. Then I design lessons that aims to improve on their area of weakness, while suiting to their interests. I also constantly check with what the student does at school, and help with upcoming assessments.
I also teach learning and study skills to students so that they become independent learners.
For EAL/D: I got band 6 in the year of 2013 and have helped students getting band 6.
For Japanese: I did extension in the year of 2013 and have gotten High Distinction in the Japanese Capstone course at UNSW.
For Mandarin: I am a native speaker and have started teaching it since 2020.
