Hi I'm Gakenia :)

Having just completed the HSC in 2018 and achieved high results including an ATAR of 97.65, I would love to tutor you! I am currently studying a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Politics and International Relations) at the University of Sydney.

My strengths lie mainly in essay-based subjects such as History, English and Biology (which to the surprise of most, involves detailed long responses or 'mini essays'). This is reflected in my HSC results, having received a band 6 (mark over 90%) in:
English Advanced, English Extension 1, Modern History, History Extension and Biology.

I personally have greatly benefited from the assistance of others in my studies and appreciate the value of sharing and passing on knowledge. Consequently, I am interested in tutoring students in years 7-12 in the areas of History, English and Science (particularly Biology).

Exams including and particularly the HSC can be stressful and tricky to navigate and as such, my tutoring focuses on advancing both essay and short response writing skills, as well as deepening important analytical skills which can be utilised in a wide range of subjects. I further concentrate on honing exam techniques, including time management and understanding the response necessary for a diverse range of questions. I also provide exemplar sample responses with feedback as examples to assist in the tutoring process.

My primary focus is each student, and as such, my tutoring sessions are specifically designed for each individual, identifying and targeting areas of weakness whilst enhancing and building on strengths. Through this I am committed to assisting each student in achieving their personal best result in exams and assessments whilst ensuring they simultaneously enjoy the learning experience.

Please do not hesitate to message me on 0404 989 250 if you would like to chat about tutoring or have any further questions.

I look forward to hearing from and working with you!!
