About

Hello! I'm a very passionate math & science tutor doing a double degree in Science (Physics major) & Engineering. I achieved the 98th percentile in the state for physics and first in my school for math. I also have a tutoring business with a website which I use to assist in the teaching process. The link is provided at the end of my description.

I discovered my talent and interest in tutoring others during study groups for my HSC, where I regularly tutored my friends and classmates. They'd say the way that I explain science and math was simple to understand and, above all, very interesting and engaging.

-Subjects I took and my HSC Examination marks: https://imgur.com/a/mrVb8p3
Physics: 90 (Only 3 points from state rank!)
Mathematics General: 87 (I've done a Math Advanced and Math extension equivalent at university. See paragraph below)
Biology: 88
Chemistry: 81

Due to requirements for my university degree, I've had to take a math class at UOW college, which was equivalent to most of Advanced Mathematics for the HSC. I've also covered everything in Advanced Mathematics and all Math Extension subjects at university.

-My teaching Style:
Each student needs a different teaching style. For all cases, I do what Elon Musk always talks about: It's best to break things down to their fundamental truths and reason up from first principles. Additionally, I firmly believe that "nearly everything is really interesting if you go into it deeply enough."

I see teaching math and science much like what we'd do if we were to (say) go fishing; "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime." Let's find your own unique way of using the fishing rod and how we can apply it across contexts to catch fish.

With that said, the teaching method that tends to be the most successful in these subjects is interactive learning. I do not take the approach of simple assistance in learning and rote memorization; I take the approach of making sure the student understands the concept entirely. This is done best with lots of examples and practice questions, in which I give the student a chance to think through it themselves, then guide them through the problems by asking the right questions and leading them into their own way of solving the problem or understanding a concept. I believe that everyone has their own style of solving a problem or approaching a concept, therefore I make sure to take this into account.

Lastly, I have a website in which clients can use for additional resources and booking at:

Victor has been working with my 13 year old son for a few months, he’s very patient and taylors the learning in a way my son understands. He also makes himself available outside tutoring time if my son has a question... I would highly recommend Victor

Victor goes beyond teaching you to memorize formulas, and gives you an understanding of how they actually work which makes the problems easy to understand and solve. Would highly recommend!
