About

99.55 ATAR || Bachelor of Vision Science (Master of Optometry) I am currently at full capacity and will not be accepting any more students! Hello! My name is Rena and I am a graduate of Brisbane State High School, currently holding a Academic Excellence Scholarship at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). I believe understanding concepts - the "why" and "how" behind things - are much more effective than brute memorisation to achieve higher marks with less effort. Not only does it help "stick" the concepts better, it is much more fascinating to have that "aha!" moment when you figure out how everything is tied together. There is a lot less to memorise than you realise. I am happy to work together and provide written feedback tailored to the task sheet, teach new concepts, or even explain exam questions that are confusing you in any of my favourite subjects: Physics (100/100), Chemistry (96/100), or Maths Methods (94/100). In-Person Locations: (negotiable, depending on accessibility) - Garden City Library - State Library of Queensland / The Edge - QUT Kelvin Grove Library - QUT Gardens Point Library My one-on-one rates are: In-person: $60/hour, or $55/hour for two hours and longer Online: $50/hour, or $55/hour for two hours and longer Group rates (in-person only): 2 people: $35/hour pp 3 people: $25/hour pp 4 people: $20/hour pp If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me!

I know Rena from high school and during our time in year 12 at Brisbane State High School, not only did Rena achieve incredible results herself, she also helped me significantly overall but especially in chemistry. This was most notable when we were studying organic chemistry together where she was able to provide study tips and clever ways to memorise content. Furthermore, over that process and across all my interactions with her, I am able to attest that not only is she incredibly helpful, she is also very patient and considerate. Therefore, she is an overall joy to work with and I am confident that Rena would make an excellent tutor.

To the HighSchoolTutors Team, I highly recommend Rena as a tutor. She was my peer in high school and often led study sessions for my friends and me. Rena’s passion for knowledge turns challenging content into engaging lessons. She adapts her teaching to fit each student, making the material both understandable and memorable. Rena is hardworking, patient, intelligent, and caring. She always goes the extra mile to ensure her peers grasp concepts fully. As someone with learning difficulties, I found studying difficult, but Rena’s support motivated me to learn. Her creative and funny chemistry memorization techniques, which I still remember, made learning enjoyable. Rena's dedication, unwavering support, and ability to make learning accessible have made a lasting impact on me. I can't recommend her enough. Thank you, Rena, for all your help and encouragement.
