Hello! My name is Isla, and I’ve recently completed a Bachelor of Animal Ecology at UniSC. This year, I’m beginning my Honours project at UniSC, focusing on marine microbiology.
Originally from Scotland, I graduated high school in 2021 before moving to Australia. I achieved straight A’s throughout my three years of assessed schooling, including 14 final exams across subjects such as Mathematics, English, Biology, Chemistry, French, and Geography. At the Advanced Higher level, I earned A’s in both Biology and Chemistry and was awarded a Distinction in the Scottish Baccalaureate of Science.
In high school, I volunteered as a tutor and have also gained years of experience coaching Athletics for children and young adults. These experiences have equipped me with the skills to connect with and effectively teach younger students. I also have experience working with students from challenging backgrounds and those with learning difficulties, tailoring my approach to meet their unique needs.
I specialize in tutoring students in Years 6–9, offering support across Mathematics, Science, English, and Geography. My approach is flexible, covering a range of subjects based on the individual needs of each student. I believe it’s crucial for students to grasp foundational concepts thoroughly, as this sets them up for success in later schooling. Beyond subject knowledge, I also focus on teaching learning strategies and helping students develop effective study habits.
If you’re looking for a patient and knowledgeable tutor to help your child succeed, I’d love to help.
Pricing of sessions is $50 per hour and ideally sessions will be at UniSC campus, but can be flexible on location/date and time!
