HSC All-Rounder | UNSW Law Graduate | ATAR 98.05
My name is Nguyen Lan and I am a law graduate at the University of New South Wales, currently working in the legal field. I completed my HSC in 2018 and attained an ATAR of 98.05. I achieved a Band 6 (90+) in every subject I undertook, including Advanced Mathematics, English Extension I-II, History and Legal Studies. I was listed on the HSC Distinguished Achiever’s List for all subjects I studied accordingly, and received a Premier’s Award for Academic Excellence for my HSC.
I grew up in a family of educators, and have trialled various different tutoring styles myself. From my experience, it is clear that there is no one style that is wholly effective in engaging and enriching every student. I believe in collaboration with the student and their parents to ascertain what tutoring style would be most effective for that particular student. This ensures that not only their learning style is catered to, but also that their lifestyle and extra curriculars can be taken into account, to ensure students are not overwhelmed in taking on further commitments to tutoring.
Having said that, I aim to provide students with deeper understanding of the current NSW syllabus, solidified by the opportunity to review with practice questions. I teach not only the content of the syllabus, but can also provide practical advice in respect of maintaining consistent study habits throughout the school year and strategies during examinations.
In addition to the listed subjects, I am bilingual and am very passionate about teaching English as a Second Language for Years 1-8 students, so that they can be more confident in their English skills as they approach the latter years of their education.
