Hi! I'm Aidan; a chancellorโs scholar at the University of Melbourne studying mathematics and physics. I completed VCE in 2021 as the Dux of Emmaus College with an ATAR of 99.90, achieving top study scores of over 40 in each of my subjects.

I have experience tutoring for over two years, and have honed my teaching abilities throughout this time. My subject knowledge and passion for learning is second to none. My students find our lessons engaging and see great success in their academic pursuits. I genuinely enjoy teaching and believe this enthusiasm translates directly into my classes.

I understand what it's like to be a student stuck in the VCE system, and how overwhelming it can be just to keep up with the constant barrage of assessments and examinations. I aim to use my experience and success in VCE to help alleviate some of this stress for my students. I can help with study planning, directing students to useful resources, and providing insight into common exam questions and themes.
I can empathise with students struggling with getting that bit of intuition to 'click' just as well as I can with those feeling unchallenged with school work. Regardless of where my student sits in the cohort, I aim to meet them at their current level of understanding and work alongside them to challenge them while promoting their academic growth.

Lessons occur online using Zoom (or some other meeting application if you prefer). I like my students to take initiative and to come to our lessons with a general idea of what they'd like to work on - I can then provide them with useful practice questions and explain concepts/ideas to bolster their understanding. I'm not here to give my students the answers - rather, I aim to collaborate with them to help them overcome challenges on their own terms. I will prompt them with difficult questions and ask them to explain ideas to me in their own words, which can allow them to self-identify any areas of weakness or confidence.
I aim to start exam preparation from the very first lesson, and regularly incorporate past VCAA exam questions into my lessons. I find that introducing this content as soon as possible is the best strategy for getting students comfortable with the end of year assessments. Exam questions also serve as an excellent benchmark of understanding - allowing students to understand what they're expected to know in each area of study.
So if you're looking for a passionate and empathetic tutor that can help you to thrive in your academic pursuits, please send me a message!

Aidan P was my Y12 Specialist Maths Tutor in 2022. Aidan has a great way of teaching ideas, shifting the pace of learning to cater for new and already confident topics. If there was a topic I was struggling through, he would make sure to slow down and go through the basics, using explanations of other ideas and terminology to ease my understanding. Overall, I had a fantastic time and felt as if he really cared about my study, I would greatly recommend Aidan as he ultimately helped me achieve the ATAR I needed to get into my course.

He's a really great tutor for math and physics. I really enjoy our lessons together, thanks to his great insight and knowledge. Something that I really enjoy about our lessons, is that with his immense knowledge of math and physics, he is able to explain or explore almost any topic or question I might have with confidence. Whenever I'm unsure about something or want challenging extension work, he is always patient and able to provide me with the skills that I need to solve the problem.

Aidan's my tutor for Maths in Year 12, and he's an absolute gun! He explains concepts really well, always checks on whether I understand what he's says, and I always look forward to our Math sessions! Most importantly, Aidan really helps me with linking my knowledge from what i've done at school, to newer topics. I always feel like I gain a new understanding or perspective of Maths in each of our sessions!

Aidan P was one of the brightest Maths and Physics students I have taught. He was always asking for explanations when he didn't understand something and was then able to help explain to other students patiently and clearly. I would highly recommend him as a tutor for any Maths or Physics subjects, up to and including year 12
