About

I'm Matt, a Rhodes Scholar and PhD candidate at Oxford. I've worked in roles in university teaching, academia, a strategy consultancy, and a quantum technology startup, and I'm now pursuing a PhD in quantum technology at the University of Oxford under a Rhodes Scholarship. I have 5 years of experience teaching at ANU and Oxford, having been a university tutor for various physics and mathematics classes. I'm also experienced in one-on-one tutoring, and currently work as a Graduate Mentor and Graduate Teaching Assistant at Merton College, Oxford. I am familiar with the International Baccalaureate curriculum, and can also provide consultation on internal assessments and Extended Essays within STEM topics. I've also held roles in other parts of the education sphere, such as being an examiner for an international Olympiad, and serving as an interviewer for an elite international scholarship for exceptional teenagers. I know from first-hand experience that schools often don't meet the needs of gifted students. I can provide extension tutoring for gifted students in STEM topics. I can also provide consultation and mentoring on related matters such university applications and choice, study abroad, career planning, university scholarships, and elite/international academic competitions like Olympiads. I'm an experienced and knowledgable young scholar with a broad range of life experience. If you're a gifted student looking for guidance from someone who's walked the path ahead of you, then I can definitely help. Looking forward to meeting you!
