Tutoring near Balmain, Sydney, NSW

I am a second year University student studying Law-Arts at ANU in Canberra with a major in Italian and a minor in English. I maintain a High Distinction average for Arts and a Distinction average for Law. I graduated PLC Sydney in 2020 and finished top in Standard maths, Drama, Italian, SOR 2 and fourth in my year, with an atar of 97. I have two years of experience tutoring English, math, history, religion and Italian to students of all ages, including, and especially, HSC students. In my free time I love reading, travelling (I hope to go to Bologna University next year for a language exchange) and walking my dogs.

I love the subjects I teach and I aim to cultivate this same passion in my students, creating a positive environment where my students feel comfortable and confident. I strive to stimulate my students creatively and academically through games and lively discussion: learning doesn't have to be boring. This is definitely something I have picked up during my time studying drama. I struggled with my studies in High School so I understand how stressful it can feel to fall behind and how important it is to have someone patient who can talk you through things step-by-step. I give my students lots of encouragement and I make sure to explain things in simple, yet engaging, terms. I participated in lots of debating and public speaking competitions at school so I know that communication is key. One of the most common problems I've encountered in my years of HSC tutoring is students not understanding the question. This is why I spend a lot of time going over past papers and past questions with my students and helping them master the essay and thesis writing structure.

Ultimately, I want to give my students the best chance at success, whilst building their confidence and love of learning. I offer online tutoring for the subjects listed above but I am also available for face-to-face tutoring in Sydney from the 7th of June until the 23rd of July (I have a working with children check).
