I’m Nathan and I would love to help you excel in your English studies. I recently graduated from Sydney Grammar School in 2020, and I am currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce/Law (LLB) at UNSW, majoring in Finance. In addition, I am currently positioned as a Paralegal at Herbert Smith Freehills. Across 2021, 2022 and 2023, I am pleased to announce that EIGHTEEN out of my twenty total students experienced an improvement of at least 15% in their English school rankings. Meanwhile, NINE out of my twelve Year 12 students achieved the TOP BAND in HSC English Advanced (Band 6). Regarding the Law Admissions Test (LAT), I have thoroughly enjoyed mentoring six students to score a very strong average of 82% through intensive workshops and practice paper evaluation. With respect to my sessions, I offer tutoring in English (Years 7-10), English Advanced, English Extension 1, English Extension 2, and the Law Admissions Test (LAT) (Years 11-12). I will tailor lessons according to each student’s needs, strengthening their foundations and breaking down texts so it is easier to understand. Whilst developing effective exam technique and addressing any areas of concern through a results-driven approach, I will focus on the rigorous and often neglected specifics of the HSC English course to ensure that my students stand out from the rest. Importantly, my students will gain an upper-hand on others from the extensive knowledge I have gained from high school debating and Model United Nations competitions, and a diverse range of law school and consulting case competitions at university, particularly as public speaking is now such a significant aspect of succeeding in HSC English. Given my experience as President at 180 Degrees Consulting UNSW and previously as a School Prefect at Sydney Grammar, I am confident in supporting all types of individuals and fully understand the difficulties that many students face with the incredibly demanding nature of high school English. Beyond these tutoring sessions, I am happy to help polish as many essays/imaginatives/discursives/persuasives as necessary and provide comprehensive feedback to ensure that my students are consistently improving. I also have a thorough understanding of the revised HSC English syllabus that was introduced in 2019, allowing me to support my students through the lens of the refreshed rubric. With my extensive collection of resources from both Sydney Grammar and several other top-tier schools, I will always endeavour to achieve the best marks possible for my students and instil them with greater self-confidence in their English studies. Additionally, I have genuinely enjoyed tutoring my students, who have often seen considerable improvements in their exam results and school rankings. This includes students from: Sydney Grammar, North Sydney Boys, North Sydney Girls, Sydney Boys, SCEGGS Darlinghurst, Meriden, PLC Pymble, Knox Grammar, Parramatta High School, and OLMC Parramatta. As I have been exposed to such a rich diversity of students and school exams, I am able to share this intricate knowledge of countless HSC marking criteria with my students. Given current conditions, I am more than happy to tutor over Zoom.
