I have 3 years of experience tutoring 50+ students of various abilities and ages (years 3-12) across a range of subjects. I'm currently in my final semester of a Bachelor of Biomedicine at The University of Melbourne, looking to pursue medicine in the future. I am extremely passionate about learning and excited to help other students excel! I offer both in-person and online tutoring via Zoom. In addition to one-on-one tutoring, I will be offering group classes for 2025 (2-6 students), providing the benefits of private tutoring along with valuable peer discussion (and a more affordable rate!). ABOUT ME Throughout my high school years, I balanced my academic life with training and competing in elite level tennis, which allowed me to develop strong organisational skills and the ability to work under constant time pressure. I understand the stress which can arise in all year levels of school, and am a firm believer that ANYONE can do well with the appropriate guidance, study habits, and learning techniques. I love working with people and can offer a patient, compassionate, and personalised approach to tutoring students. *I have also worked as a tennis coach for children (age range 4-12), so have experience with younger folk and love working with primary school students! TUTORING STYLE I create a personalised plan for each student to ensure that we stay on target to reach their goals. This includes a Google Drive Folder and/or OneNote notebook (depending on the subject), where all lesson notes are neatly organised by topic/study design dot point, and easily accessible to each student. As a tutor, I can: • Break down more complex concepts, such as by creating diagrams, mind maps, etc. • Share study techniques and exam/test strategies. • Provide resources including practice questions/exams/SACS. • Use and share detailed VCE and high school notes for the subjects I undertook, compiled from various sources and expert teachers. These are extremely valuable to help understand content from a perspective other than standard textbooks. • Share tips and tricks from VCAA Chief assessors, exam markers and writers whom I was taught by. Of particular importance for VCE, I can show students how to answer exam-style questions properly and understand exactly what assessors are looking for. I am also always available via text message/phone if students need help with questions or homework outside of tutoring hours. I am happy to provide additional sessions if students would like extra help, or to revise before tests/SACs.
