About

99.55 ATAR: QCE Tutoring. 500+ Hours of Experience. Neurodivergent students welcome! Blue Card Holder. Hi, I’m Mai! I’m a 2020 graduate from St Aidan’s Anglican Girls school, and I’m in my second year of Electrical Engineering at the University of Queensland and have completed internships within the consulting industry at a big four firm and an electrical engineering company. I achieved an ATAR of 99.55 and A’s in all of my year 12 subjects; Specialist Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, Chemistry, Physics, Literature, and Modern history and I would love to help you! My goal as a tutor is to help you reach your academic goals; be it passing a subject, or blitzing it, I want to help people of all abilities. I’m extremely patient, and non-judgemental of those that I teach, as I understand it is extremely difficult to learn challenging new content, especially when there is the added stress of people’s perceptions of your learning progress. I understand how difficult it is to adapt to rigid systems and I can help you develop your own study systems and strategies to suit your needs. I have much experience in teaching content to students as I have often helped younger students and younger siblings with difficulties, and understand that everyone learns differently, so a tutor should not have one single teaching style; they must adapt to the student to suit the student’s needs. As a QCE ATAR student, I understand the struggles and tribulations of the new assessment methods, and specific areas where the syllabus is lacking in its explanations, and can aid in helping you interpret it for your exam study as well as providing additional practice exam resources to ensure that you do well. Additionally, I am confident with assignment assistance: be it providing feedback on structure, generalized feedback, planning, a second opinion or editing. I aim to help all students completely understand the ISMG (instrument specific marking guide) and its nuances for assignments to ensure that students’ hard work is DIRECTED hard work, instead of going to waste. I am available for both in-person tutoring at Indooroopilly, Toowong, Mt . Ommaney, Corinda and UQ libraries. I would love to help you sometime soon! My pricing (hourly rate) is as follows: $60 for individual face to face and online tutoring. $35 for group tutoring (per person): group of 2. $30 for group tutoring (per person): group of 3.
