About
Hey everyone, I’m Josie and I am currently studying Biomedicine at Bond University. I am aiming to get into medicine within the next two years.
Here is a little run down on my educational background to date:
- Graduated from St Hilda’s School in Queensland with an OP 4/ATAR 95
- Received a 50% Academic Scholarship to Bond University
- I am in my second semester of Biomedicine at Bond University
- In my first semester at Bond University I averaged a High distinction in my subjects (I have received a Vice Chancellor's award for my first two semesters)
In Year 12 I took the following subjects:
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology
- English
- Mathematics B (Mathematics Methods)
- Mathematics C (Specialist Mathematics)
- Religion
In year 11 I also took Griffith Chemistry after school.
I have completed up to Grade 8 Speech and Drama Exams with majority of my marks over the years being high distinctions. I have also completed up to Grade 8 performing text exams with the same level of results.
Semester 1 Biomedicine Subjects at Bond University:
Principles of Human Structure and Function (Mark – 91%)
Chemistry of Living Systems (Mark – 89%)
Cell Biology (Mark – 89%)
Core: Critical thinking and Communication (Mark – 83%)
I love working with students in order to provide ways to maximise their potential and boost their marks.
I have my Blue Card (Working with Children) as I am a Volunteer Surf Life Saver. I am happy to present my blue card upon request. I previously worked at Abrakiddazzle (A Kids Party Centre) and currently am working in a medical clinic on the Gold Coast.
I am also happy to tutor students for the UCAT (I sat the exam last year and attended many workshops etc to prepare). At the end of 2019 I gave a speech/lecture regarding the UCAT (Undergraduate Clinical Aptitude Test) at a Medical Conference that took place in Antarctica - Medicine on the Edge.
Other Experiences I have had:
In 2019 I applied for the National Youth Science Forum and following the selection process, I topped the district. I was able to attend this 12-day residential program at Australia National University at the beginning of year 12.
So, if you feel I am the right tutor for you, please do message me for more information.
