About

Hi, I'm Sam!

Currently, I am studying for a Bachelor of Psychological Science at James Cook University. I have plans for future study in a Masters of Professional Psychology. I graduated with an OP 6 and a QCS result of A in 2017. My current GPA is 5.5. I previously undertook a Bachelor of Biomedical Science before transferring and so I am proficient in subjects pertaining to Chemistry, Medical Physiology, and Anatomy.

During my time at high school, I received an OP of 6 (equivalent to a 90/91 ATAR) and achieved an A on the QCS test. I achieved a standard of VHA for English, English Literature, Biology and, Study of Religion. I achieved a HA standard for Chemistry and Mathematics B.

My studying method is similar to that of submitting a draft for review to a teacher. I will provide a detailed review of essays and content, picking up grammatical, spelling and general errors while also providing questions for the student to answer and improve their essay in doing so. This will require that I have a copy of the rubric/marking guide to ensure that I understand the assessment needs and where the student should focus their critical analysis.

I also have on the job research experience working in a health and safety department. This experience is useful for providing research techniques as well as reading techniques to extract the most pertinent information. Along with this I currently am employed by JCU and also work as a Residential Advisor meaning I have a current Paid Blue Card.

The services I offer include:
• Face-to-face tutoring - after school and on weekends
• Drafting/editing written assessments via email
• Tutoring through Skype or Facetime

I aim to help you understand your strengths and weaknesses in your writings and be able to critically self evaluate your work in order to reach your goals!
