Hello there! My name is Amanda and I have been a Primary School and VCE English tutor for 3 years. In 2016, I graduated from Rowville Secondary College as the Dux with an ATAR of 99.05 and an English study score of 44. I currently hold a Bachelor of Arts (Creative Writing) and am eager to pass on my knowledge of writing to young students.

My Tutoring Approach

Good written communication skills are lifelong, integral to almost any field of work. Given this, my mission is to assist students in English by providing them with a fundamental understanding of language.

My hope is that students will be able to apply this fundamental understanding to any other form of writing, both in VCE and beyond.

Confidence and self-awareness are the main qualities I want to instil in students, aiming to help them grow into independent learners.

If there’s one thing I love, it’s words. English doesn’t have to be boring! What I hope to do is help students discover their love for words and inspire them towards success.

My motto is “be the best you can be.” What I strive to do is just that: help all my students become the best learners they can be.

My Services

I tutor students in English throughout high school all the way up to VCE.

My lessons are structured around what my student is currently working on at school. My approach is flexible, allowing me to help students with any English-related issues they have, at any point in the school year.

I specialise in:
- Essay writing and structure
- Creative writing
- NAPLAN preparation
- VCE English exam preparation

Additionally, I can provide assistance with:
- Organisation
- Time management
- Revision techniques
- Exam strategies
These skills can be applied to any subject, not just English!

As part of my tutoring, I offer 7 days text and email support for any questions you may have outside of tutoring sessions. Relevant notes, writing guides or templates can be provided on request, and students can send me work for correction between sessions.

Location & Availability

I live in the Berwick area and tutor mostly in Narre Warren, Berwick, Officer, Beaconsfield and Pakenham. I am willing to drive to you (and save you the travel hassle!) or arrange lessons at Bunjil Place Library.

I am available most evenings and I am happy to negotiate for lessons on a weekly, fortnightly or on-request basis. Tutoring is about you—not me!—so I will do my best to accommodate you into my schedule.

I hold both a valid Working with Children Check and a valid Victorian Drivers Licence.

Please feel free to contact me with any enquiries! I hope to see you soon!
